Drink a Little Lied with Me went to Sweden this summer!
We had long dreamed of recording some of Carl Michael Bellman’s songs — and finally it happened!
Carl Michael Bellman was an 18th-century poet, ballad singer, cittern player, and entertainer. He moved freely between royal society (including King Gustav III) and the taverns of Stockholm’s lower classes. He is best known for his Fredman’s Epistles and Fredman’s Songs (from which we are performing), where he portrayed life in 18th-century Stockholm with humor, depth, and remarkable musical sensitivity.
This special episode was recorded in Sweden, hosted by the wonderful soprano Elisabeth Ekberg and her generous family. During our stay we experienced the landscapes, the summer weather, and even a bit of their family life. We never imagined this project would take us this far — but here it is!

NEW SEASON! In this episode, Chiara shares with us one of her earliest French melodies from her teenage years: Claude Debussy’s “L’âme évaporée et souffrante”. She also performs two songs by Kurt Weill, sung in her native languages—French and German.
As a classical singer and a dancer specializing in modern African street dance, Chiara has a unique way of expressing herself through both art forms. Born into a musical family and having lived in more than three of Europe’s most culturally significant cities, Chiara carries with her a wealth of experiences. But what has shaped her the most? Was choosing a professional path in the arts an obvious decision? And how does she see herself today? These were my biggest questions for her during the preparation of this episode.
After a long break, I’m thrilled and grateful to be back on air with this episode. I’ve had the joy of arranging these three beautiful art songs for the occasion, and I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
Thank you for being here to drink a little Lied with me.
Cheers!
Yite

Duo Rija in the house! For this off-season episode, we have Sari (Mezzo-soprano) and Sonja (guitarist) sharing their repertoire of Fanny Hensel and Johannes Brahms Lieder. Dive into the typical German romantic sentiment of 'wehmütig' and witness how seamlessly they work together as a LiedDuo.
Recording this episode with Sari and Sonja was a blast, revealing that they're not just a Duo on stage. They carry their music with immense joy, singing together even when the cameras are off :D
Enjoy this episode!

In this episode, Kaho had the brilliant idea to sing Mozart and Schubert's songs in both German and Japanese, considering that these songs arrived in Japan during the Meiji era (1868-1912). We also explored the traditional Scottish song 'Auld Lang Syne,' which is a famous graduation song in Japan. Our discussion was both insightful and great fun! We delved into the history of Ueno Park in Tokyo, the aesthetics of eternity and beauty, and surprisingly, we discussed Japanese colonization in Taiwan. Additionally, we revealed that one of these songs is heard in supermarkets every day!

- A dream episode for Yite!
After years of knowing Mompou's famous song 'Above you, only flowers' , I had the joy of arranging it for guitar and performing it with Elionor, a native Catalan speaker and a remarkable singer. Together, we explore the beauty of Catalan songs, featuring renowned pieces from Mompou's 'Dream Battle' (Combat del somni), delving into the depths of emotions surrounding love and lost loves. The episode concludes with 'April' (abril) by Toldrà, a refreshing spring-like song that beautifully complements the guitar.
