Ep. 296 - The Two People You Need to Inspire + Be Inspired By to Live Your Best Life

What if I stopped trying to impress the world and focused instead on living in a way that felt true to me?

In this episode, I explore the idea that there are really only two people we need to inspire and be inspired by in this lifetime. Our 7 year old self and our 87 year old self.

I chose age seven intentionally, because around age eight, especially for girls, confidence begins to shift and external voices start to matter more than inner knowing.

I also introduce the perspective of your 87 year old self, the version of you who has lived enough life to know what mattered and what did not.

This episode is about the space between those two versions of you and what it looks like to lead your life from the inside out.

In this episode, we talk about:

• Why confidence often changes around age seven

• How external validation replaces intuition over time

• Reconnecting with your younger self without nostalgia or fluff

• The grounded clarity your 87 year old self already holds

• Where self abandonment shows up in everyday choices

• Why leadership starts with how you lead yourself

This episode leads into my free live training, Lead From Within.

Lead From Within is a two day live experience happening January 26 and 27 at 12 PM Eastern inside a private Facebook group.

It is for women who want to reconnect with their inner leader and trust themselves more fully.

Ep. 295 - Two Stories, One Life and Why Your Perspective Matters

Which story am I telling today, and how is it shaping my life?

In this impromptu, from-the-heart episode, I share a moment that stopped me in real time and reminded me just how powerful our narratives truly are. After returning from a family trip to Mexico, I realized there were two completely true versions of the same experience I could share. One rooted in frustration, discomfort, and everything that went wrong. The other grounded in gratitude, presence, connection, and what went beautifully right.

Both stories were true. But only one left me feeling empowered, steady, and in the driver’s seat of my life.

This episode is an invitation to notice the stories you tell about your days, your work, your relationships, your challenges, and your life. Because the story you choose does more than describe your experience. It shapes your energy, your outlook, and the direction everything moves next.

We talk about self leadership, emotional responsibility, and why embodying these lessons matters if we truly want to raise an empowered next generation. Leadership does not start with what we say. It starts with how we live, how we interpret, and how we choose meaning in real time.

This is about leading yourself first. Always.

In this episode, I share:

• Why every experience holds multiple true narratives

• How the story you tell impacts your energy and emotional state

• The difference between recounting life versus consciously choosing meaning

• Why self leadership is the foundation of real impact

• How your daily narratives shape your year and your life

• What it truly means to lead by example for the next generation

If this episode resonated with you, I want to personally invite you into Lead From Within, a free two day live training happening January 26 and 27 at noon Eastern. This experience is for women who know that to lead anyone, you must first lead yourself. We will explore reclaiming your inner authority, trusting your voice, and stepping fully into the leader of your own life.

Ep. 294 - The Subtle Ways Your Inner Girl Is Holding You Back (And What to Do About It)

What if the reason you hesitate, second-guess yourself, or hold back from the life you want has nothing to do with your capability and everything to do with an old version of you still calling the shots?

In this episode, I explore a truth that changes everything once you see it. We are not born doubting ourselves. We are born confident, expressive, curious, and unafraid. But over time, the world teaches us to quiet down, to not be too much, to stay safe. And without questioning it, we listen. That dimmed version of ourselves slowly becomes the voice we default to. Not because we are broken, but because we learned how to survive.

I share how this shows up in real life for so many women. Feeling called to lead but waiting until you feel ready. Wanting more but editing yourself before you even try. Knowing you are meant for something bigger while staying loyal to an old story that tells you to stay small.

This episode is about recognizing when your inner girl is running the show and learning how to let the woman you are today take the lead. It is about self trust, leadership, and remembering who you were before the world told you to be less.

In this episode, I talk about:

  • Why we are born confident and how self doubt is learned
  • How childhood conditioning shows up in adult decision making
  • The difference between intuition and old fear patterns
  • Why so many women wait for permission instead of trusting themselves
  • How healing your inner girl directly impacts how you lead and live
  • What it really means to lead from within

If you have ever felt called to more but found yourself hesitating, this conversation will meet you exactly where you are.

And if something in this episode resonates, I want to personally invite you to join me for my free two day masterclass, Lead from Within, happening live January 26th and 27th. This experience is designed to help you break through self doubt, reconnect with your inner voice, and step into your life with more clarity, courage, and confidence. You do not need to be perfect or ready. You just need to show up with an open heart.

You can save your free seat at melodypourmoradi.com/leadfromwithin

Key takeaways from this episode:

  • You were not born doubting yourself. You were taught to.
  • The inner girl is protective, not broken.
  • The version of you that learned how to survive does not need to run your life.
  • Confidence is not something you earn. It is something you remember.
  • When a woman learns to trust herself, she becomes a powerful example for every girl watching.

When you rise back into who you truly are, you do not just change your own life. You change what is possible for the next generation.

Closing affirmation:

I trust myself. I lead from within. I no longer dim my light.

Ep. 293 - Why Playing It Safe Is Costing You More Than You Think

What if the very thing you are avoiding because it feels uncomfortable is exactly what your next level is asking of you?

In this short and honest solo reflection, I share an unexpected lesson sparked by something as simple as a yoga class and how changing rooms can change who we become. Living part time between Long Island and Manhattan has shown me, in real time, how comfort can quietly keep us playing small, while challenge invites us to rise. This episode is about choosing growth over ease, expansion over safety, and learning to place ourselves in rooms that ask more of us.

I also take this conversation deeper by exploring how this idea applies not just to our own lives, but to how we lead the young people we love. If we want resilient, confident, capable humans, we cannot shield them from every discomfort. We have to show them what they are capable of by letting them stretch.

This is a quick episode, but a powerful one. Consider it an invitation to step just five or ten percent outside your comfort zone and see what meets you there.

What you will reflect on in this episode:

  • How comfort can quietly limit your growth
  • Why being in the right room matters more than being the best in the room
  • The difference between safety and stagnation
  • How discomfort builds resilience, confidence, and self trust
  • Why leadership starts with leading yourself first
  • How to model strength and resilience for the next generation

If this conversation resonates and you feel the pull to go deeper, I invite you to join me for my free two day training, Lead From Within. This experience is designed to help you reconnect to your inner power, work through imposter syndrome, heal old stories, and learn how to lead yourself and others with clarity and confidence. Ep. 292 - Dr. Angela Casey on Bright Girl Beauty, Entrepreneurship, Motherhood + Skincare for Every Stage of Life

What if skincare didn’t have to feel overwhelming — for our teens, for our daughters, and for us as grown women navigating midlife, hormones, melasma, retinol overwhelm, and the temptation of “quick fix” procedures?

How do we know what actually works, what’s safe, and what we’re doing just because the internet told us to?

In this episode, I sit down with double board certified dermatologist and dermatologic surgeon Dr. Angela Casey — also a mother of three and the founder of Bright Girl, a skincare line developed specifically for Gen Z and Gen Alpha. Together, we explore skincare across the lifespan — from tweens to teens to women in midlife — and how we can make smart, sustainable choices that support skin health now and long into the future.

We also go deep into entrepreneurship, identity, motherhood, presence, and what it means to follow a calling even when life is already full. There is science here, but there is also heart.

Inside this conversation, you’ll learn:

  • What makes tween + teen skin biologically different from adult skin
  • Why copying influencer routines can backfire even if the product works for adults
  • A simple dermatologist-approved routine tweens and teens can actually follow
  • Why tinted mineral sunscreen is a “non-negotiable” for long-term skin health
  • The truth about Botox & fillers: safety, risks, expectations + who benefits
  • Why daily sunscreen is “money in the bank for your future face”
  • Midlife skincare: what actually works and what might be unnecessary
  • Entrepreneurship + motherhood: ambition, presence, guilt, purpose, and balance
  • What legacy looks like as a woman building something meaningful in the world
  • The powerful message Dr. Casey would give her 8-year-old self

This episode is equal parts science, beauty, prevention, confidence-building, and soul-centered ambition. You might hear yourself in this one — whether you're raising girls, managing your own skin, or building something that matters in the world.

Ep. 291 - Your Energy Is Not Up for Grabs: How to Stop Giving Your Power Away

What if your energy was your greatest resource and you could reclaim it starting today.

In this week’s episode, we explore energy as currency, how we spend it, where we leak it, and how to call it back home. We talk about the habits, relationships, thoughts, and loops that quietly drain us, and how awareness becomes the moment we take our power back.

This conversation is a reminder that everything is energy and the way we direct it shapes our reality. When we stop reliving the past, stop future-tripping, stop overgiving where there is no return, and stop competing with everyone else’s highlight reel, we begin creating instead of comparing. We return to the present. We return to ourselves.

May this episode serve the woman you are today and the inner girl inside you who was never taught how precious her energy truly is.

Key takeaways:

  • Energy is currency. Spend it where it nourishes you.
  • An energy leak is anything that costs more than it gives back.
  • Rumination, regret, and what-ifs drain power from the present moment.
  • Your potential lives only in the now.
  • Competing dilutes energy. Creating amplifies it.
  • When you reclaim your energy, you reclaim your life.

Affirmation to close:

I honor my energy. I choose where it goes. I reclaim my power, one present moment at a time.

Ep. 290 – How To Lead With Intention in a World Built on Applause {inspired by George Michael}

What if the most meaningful things we ever do are the ones no one will ever see?

This episode was inspired by a powerful article I read about George Michael and the countless acts of anonymous generosity he carried out during his life. (You’ll hear me accidentally say he passed in 2026 instead of 2016 — a very human slip — but the heart of the story stands.)

His legacy is a reminder that real impact is quiet, soulful, and never dependent on recognition. In a world that has become increasingly performative, today’s conversation guides us back to intention, depth, and the kind of giving that comes from our truest selves.

What you’ll hear in this episode:

  • The George Michael story that sparked today’s message
  • Why so much of our world has become performative
  • How to check your intention before you give or serve
  • What it feels like to act from soul instead of ego
  • Why approval seeking keeps us disconnected
  • Reflection questions to help you return to heart-led action
  • A reminder that real impact never needs an audience

Closing affirmation:

I choose to give because it feels right, not because it will be seen.

Ep. 289 - Anonymity as Empowerment: How Being Unknown Helps You Grow

What if the version of me that grows the fastest is the version nobody knows?

That question has been echoing through me lately as I move between Long Island and my new part-time life in Manhattan. There is something deeply liberating about walking through a place where no one knows your history, your roles, or your patterns. In the absence of being “known,” you suddenly get to follow curiosity instead of expectation. You get to try new things, say yes more boldly, and meet parts of yourself that don’t always get airtime in your everyday world. In this episode, I’m exploring the unexpected power of anonymity — not as loneliness, but as an opening. A clean slate. A doorway into reinvention. I share how anonymity has been expanding me in real time and offer simple, beautiful ways you can create your own pockets of being unknown, right where you are.

In this episode, you’ll learn:

  • why anonymity can unlock rapid personal growth
  • how shedding your usual roles creates space to experiment
  • the freedom that comes from not being recognized or expected to perform
  • how doing things alone reconnects you to your inner girl and your intuition
  • practical ways to create micro-moments of anonymity in your daily life
  • why reinvention becomes easier when no one is watching

Affirmation:

I allow myself to step into moments where no one knows me, and I let new versions of me rise.

Ep. 288 - Sarah Barnes-Humphrey on self-worth + the courage to be seen

What if losing everything wasn’t the end of your story, but the moment you finally found your voice?

In this episode of Empowering Her, I sit down with Sarah Barnes-Humphrey – founder of Let’s Talk Supply Chain, creator of the Blended podcast and nonprofit, and author of the memoir “I Buried Her in a French Press: A Memoir About Finding My Voice and the Power of Being Heard.”-- We go deep into self-worth, visibility, rebuilding after loss, and what it actually looks like to create a life and brand around who you really are, not who you think you’re supposed to be.

Here’s what we talk about in this conversation:

  • How Sarah lost her family’s logistics business at 37 and rebuilt from the ground up with a mic, a podcast, and zero safety net
  • Why “progress over perfection” is the hill she’s willing to die on – and how some of her most downloaded episodes came from imperfect, messy beginnings
  • The moment she chose self-worth as the one word for her personal brand, and how that decision reshaped her content, her company, and her confidence
  • The story behind her unforgettable book title, “I Buried Her in a French Press,” and how grief, intuition, and symbolism collided in one wild, sacred moment
  • Public speaking panic: from childhood bullying and stage fright to live TV, panels, and keynotes – and how she learned to let anxiety move through her instead of running the show
  • Redefining what speaking “has to” look like and giving yourself permission to choose formats that feel like you (fireside chats, panels, conversations instead of traditional keynotes)
  • The difference between saying no from fear and saying no from alignment – and how to start telling the truth about which one is driving you
  • The spiritual supports she leans on daily: crystals, sage spray, an abundance altar, and watching for signs of support and abundance in the smallest details
  • Why she founded Blended Pledge to fund travel for underrepresented speakers, and how covering those expenses is literally getting more diverse voices on stages around the world
  • What she would say to her 8-year-old self after years of bullying – and the reminder every woman needs about her worth, no matter how “late” she feels

Ep. 287 - Stop Hiding Parts of Yourself: The Power of Full Self-Expression

What if the very parts of me I’ve been told to hide are the ones that make me whole?

Lately, I’ve been reflecting on how often we tuck away pieces of ourselves to fit the moment — the job, the relationship, the image we think others want to see. But the truth is, the more we shelve, the more disconnected we become from our own essence. Integration, not perfection, is where peace lives.

There was a time when I believed that sharing certain truths about myself would make me appear weak or too much. But every time I hid, I felt further from my own center. The moment I started showing up as the unfiltered version of me — even when it felt uncomfortable — I began to feel whole again.

Here’s what you’ll take away from today’s episode:

  • Why hiding parts of yourself creates distance from your truth.
  • How integration leads to peace and personal freedom.
  • What to ask yourself when you feel tempted to mask or shrink.
  • The difference between privacy and self-protection vs. self-erasure.
  • A reminder that every part of you — even the messy and tender ones — holds wisdom.

Thank you for tuning in to Empowering Her. If today’s message resonated, share it with someone who might need the reminder that their wholeness is their power.

Ep. 286 - When Good Things and Hard Things Happen at Once: A Lesson in Expansion

Have you ever hit a moment where joy and heartbreak showed up at the exact same time — and you weren’t sure if it was self-sabotage, an upper limit, or simply life unfolding?

In this episode of Empowering Her, I open up about the day my husband and I finally got our dream New York City apartment — a manifestation twenty years in the making — and just minutes later, learned of a family loss. It made me stop and ask one big question: Was this the universe testing me, or was it just life reminding me that I can hold it all?

Here’s what you’ll hear in this week’s conversation:

  • What the Upper Limit Problem really means, inspired by The Big Leap by Gay Hendricks
  • How to recognize when you’re blocking your own expansion through fear or doubt
  • The difference between an upper limit and life simply happening
  • Why creating unnecessary meaning around hard moments keeps you stuck
  • How to grow your capacity to hold both joy and grief at the same time
  • Simple mindset shifts to help you move beyond self-sabotage and stay open to abundance

If you’re navigating your own season of growth — one where things feel both incredible and uncertain — this episode will remind you that it’s safe to expand, to receive, and to feel all of it.

Ep. 285 - How to Find Peace After Loss: Creating Your Own Belief System

What do you believe happens after we die—and does that belief bring you peace or pain? In this episode, we explore how loss invites us to reflect not only on legacy but on the beliefs we carry about the afterlife. We get to decide what serves us. We get to choose what feels true, comforting, and empowering.

This conversation is about how we move through grief, how we create meaning, and how we pass that meaning on to those we love. Whether you're navigating loss right now or holding space for someone who is, this episode is an invitation to come back to what you believe—and why it matters.

What you’ll hear in this episode:

– A reflection on the power of choosing your belief system

– Why belief is one of our greatest tools for healing and connection

– Thoughts on how we explain loss to the next generation

– A spiritual lens for processing death that centers peace and presence

Ep. 284 - Stop Erasing Your Past: The Beauty of Every Chapter You’ve Lived

Every time I tried to run from my pain, I was also running from my power.

In this episode of Empowering Her, I’m sharing what a single line from And Just Like That taught me about how we view aging, pain, and growth. When I heard the words “poof, the last 15 years are gone,” I felt something deep inside me shift. Why would I ever want to erase the years that shaped me—the ones that broke me open, stretched me, and turned me into the woman I am today?

I talk about what it means to go through and grow through pain, how I’ve learned to heal my inner girl, and why that healing matters for the next generation watching us. When we stop trying to erase our stories, we become living examples of what strength, resilience, and authenticity look like for the girls who will come after us.

In This Episode, I Share:

  • Why I no longer wish away my past or try to “undo” the years that shaped me.
  • How I learned to stop avoiding pain and start asking what it’s here to teach me.
  • Why healing my inner girl helps me raise emotionally strong and grounded girls.
  • The mindset shift from “Why me?” to “What did this teach me?”
  • How reframing pain turns it into a powerful source of wisdom and strength.

Ep. 282 - The Antidote to a World That Feels Divided: Raising the Next Gen with Connection

What if connection really is the antidote to a world that feels divided — for us and for the next generation?

In today’s episode, I’m inviting you into a real and unfiltered conversation (recorded right from my car) about what it means to choose connection in a world that seems designed to pull us apart. From family gatherings over the Jewish New Year, to my own shifts with technology, to a story from my travels in France — this episode is all about the simple, everyday ways we can reclaim presence and pass it forward to the kids and teens in our lives.

Here’s what I share with you:

  • Why reflection doesn’t have to be judgmental, and how I set intentions for what I want more of.
  • A powerful reel from Jonathan Haidt that reframed the way I see kids and devices.
  • My personal journey of breaking free from letting my phone hijack my mornings.
  • The choice we all have between looking for darkness or looking for light.
  • How attempting to speak French opened unexpected doors of connection while traveling.
  • Why modeling connection matters so much for the next generation — and how we can do it daily.

And of course, I’ll talk about The Connection Book, my newest release, which is designed to spark real, soul-filling conversations between kids and the grown-ups who love them. Because connection isn’t just for us — it’s the gift we hand down to the next gen.

What would shift in your relationship if you asked your child a question that made them light up—instead of just asking, “How was your day?”

Ep. 280 - What Parisian Women Know About Living That We Don’t

Have you ever watched someone move through life with such presence that it feels like they’re living in a different dimension?

That’s exactly what I felt in Paris—and it inspired today’s episode.

Here’s what I’m sharing:

  • My week in France and how Parisian women seem to hold a secret to living with more ease and presence
  • Why meals in Paris aren’t about eating less but about enjoying more (and how that can shift our own relationship with food)
  • The refreshing way French women embrace natural beauty—confidence, laugh lines, and all
  • The lesson of surrender: letting things be exactly as they are instead of pushing for “extra” or “different”
  • What I noticed about French kids and the way food and gratitude are intertwined in their culture
  • The absolute gift of seeing people off their phones—and how that connects beautifully with what inspired me to write The Connection Book
  • The magic of “boisson du moment”—living for this moment instead of chasing the next one

Paris reminded me that life isn’t measured by accomplishments or checklists—it’s measured by how much we connect, savor, and live right now.

If you want to bring more of that presence and connection into your own life, pick up a copy of The Connection Book at melodypourmoradi.com/connection. It’s the perfect companion for sparking conversations and savoring the moments that matter most.

Ep. 279 - The Simple Experiment That Changes Your Relationships For The Better

What if the secret to stronger relationships with your kids — and yourself — is as simple as presence?

In today’s episode, I’m sharing The Presence Experiment — a three-step practice you can use anytime to put down distractions, look up, and truly connect. Whether you’re with your child, a loved one, or even by yourself, this experiment is a reminder that presence changes everything.

Here’s what you’ll hear inside this episode:

  • Why presence is the most underrated form of power we have
  • The 3 simple steps of The Presence Experiment you can try today
  • How to create deeper family connection in just a few minutes a day
  • Why reducing screen time (for you and your kids) opens the door to better conversations
  • The inspiration behind The Connection Book and how it gives families the words to connect when they don’t know where to start

I wrote The Connection Book: 33 Prompts to Help You and Your Child Talk More, Scroll Less, and Love Deeper for parents, caregivers, and anyone who wants to build meaningful relationships with kids of any age. Inside you’ll find ready-to-use conversation starters that help children feel seen, heard, and deeply supported — while making family time more intentional and joyful.

Ep. 278 - The Connection Book Is Here: How to Talk More, Scroll Less, and Love Deeper

It’s here! My brand-new book, The Connection Book: 33 Prompts to Help You and Your Child Talk More, Scroll Less, and Love Deeper, has officially been released.

This book poured through me and I can't believe it's finally here!

I created it for children and the grown ups who love them — parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, mentors, teachers, and caregivers — to reconnect with the children you love in a world that’s full of noise and distraction.

Inside, you’ll find 33 prompts designed to spark real conversations, strengthen bonds, and bring presence back to everyday moments like dinnertime, car rides, and bedtime. These aren’t surface-level chats — they’re invitations to talk about identity, values, dreams, boundaries, fears, and joys.

In this episode, I’m sharing:

✨ Why I wrote this book now (and why another one is still waiting on the shelf).

✨ What I’ve noticed about our “connection deficit” in everyday life — from phones at the dinner table to AI-generated birthday messages.

✨ How our devices have stolen presence, and what it costs us when listening becomes a lost art.

✨ Why true connection is our birthright — and how we can reclaim it with the children we love.

I truly believe connection is the medicine we all need right now. And this book is my love letter to every child who deserves to be seen, heard, and known — and to every brave grown-up who chooses presence over distraction.

👉 Grab your copy here: www.melodypourmoradi.com/connection

(Available in both hardcover and paperback — the perfect gift for the people you love most.)

If this book speaks to you, I would be so grateful if you shared it with a friend, a parent, a teacher, or anyone who craves more connection in their lives.

Because when we reconnect with each other, we begin to heal the world.

Ep. 286 - How to Mentor, Parent, and Coach Without the Fix-It Trap

What would happen if you started showing up like you — exactly as you are — were already enough?

In this episode of Empowering Her, I’m getting real about something I call “fix-it culture.” It’s the sneaky belief that we (or the people we love) are broken and need repairing before we can live our fullest lives. Spoiler alert: it’s an illusion — and it’s exhausting.

This conversation was sparked by a private coaching session where I kept hearing the phrase “fix it.” It got me thinking about how deeply this mindset is baked into our self-talk, parenting, and even our work as mentors and coaches. So today, we’re breaking it down and reframing it completely.

Here’s what we explore:

  • The illusion of brokenness and how society trains us to believe we’re incomplete
  • Why wholeness is our birthright — we are born with nothing missing and nothing wrong
  • Swapping “fix it” language for “evolve” — the powerful shift from lack to growth
  • A reflection on Coldplay’s Fix You and why love isn’t about repair
  • The truth that we can’t “fix” anyone — not our kids, not our clients, not our friends
  • How parents, coaches, and girls’ empowerment leaders can hold space without trying to solve or repair
  • The impact of modeling self-love and personal evolution instead of perfection
  • Reframe questions to try this week for yourself and the people you lead

And… I share a little teaser about Book Baby #3, coming out next week! This one is for children and the grown-ups who love them — a beautiful tool for connection you can share with the kids in your life.
