He currently works in the fields of environmental humanities and postcolonial ecocriticism. Ashley is the author of three recent books relating to these fields: People’s Power (O/R, 2020), Extreme Cities (Verso, 2017), and Extinction (O/R, 2016). We talk about Ashley's recent book, People's Power, and discuss the urgency to compose a radical political path for a just energy transition beyond fossil fuels and the imperative to go beyond technocratic and green capitalist solutions.
