This week on the Exciting & New podcast, Jason and Andy welcome Jim and Dan back on the show to discuss the 1985 sports flick Rocky IV.  In this installment of the franchise, Rocky travels to Russia to fight the immovable object that is Drago, a Soviet monster of a man, all in the name of avenging Apollo Creed's death. You would think that by the fourth installment of this franchise it would be getting just a bit stale, but the whole Cold War of it all, along with about five Survivor music videos/montages keeps this one moving along at a brisk pace as we wait for Rocky to bring about global peace by the end.  Putin is seen briefly off to the right of Gorbachev planning to end all the niceties in a few years.   Enjoy global harmony while it lasts.  And enjoy the podcast.

This week on the Exciting & New podcast, Jason and Andy welcome Doug back on the show to discuss the 1985 action flick The Jewel of the Nile.  That's right, Dana couldn't make on for this one, probably because she got ill while watching it.  Kathleen Turner read this script and said "Nope".  They then threatened to sue her and she said "If I have to...".  Danny DeVito brings all the energy you would expect from him, and is truly the only reason to watch this moive.  Michael Douglas is fine, I guess.  Honestly who cares.  This movie is a sequel to Romancing the Stone, which shows how bad this movie is.  It killed the franchise.  Don't watch this movie, but enjoy the podcast!

This week on the Exciting & New podcast, Jason, Andy and Dana welcome no one on the show, as no one would be caught dead discussing the 1985 movie Transylvania 6-5000.  Normally it would say comedy (?), but this movie doesn't even deserve that joke.  The cast in this movie is stellar, but the script is awful.  This is like watching a minor league baseball game filled with future starts, but they are managed by a chimp.  No one knows what to do.  The scenes go on too long.  And it seems as though everything was improv, with the direction being "Don't be funny".  Luckily you don't have to watch the movie to enjoy the podcast.

House.  In this one, the Greatest American Hero deals with all the PTSD of Vietnam and the loss of his young son in the only normal way... taking over his dead aunt's haunted house.  Along the way, Norm from Cheers stops over to lend a 6-pack and some advice as they battle a raging Bull through the House.  This movie might have been something if it took a different turn or two, but since it is brought to you by the guys that made Friday the 13th, the road less traveled remains untraveled here.  Regardless of all that, we had a lot of fun discussing this one.  Enjoy the podcast.

This week on the Exciting & New podcast, Jason, Andy and Dana discuss the 1985 horror movie Silver Bullet.  Halloween marches on with this one, based on a Stephen King book.  It stars a less than mobile Corey Haim and an entirely too mobile Gary Busey as they battle a local werewolf, who causes a ruckus in town with every full moon.  If I was a betting man (which I am) I am not taking a drunken Busey and a wheelchair bound Haim.  You'll have to watch the movie and listen to the podcast to find out what happens.  Enjoy the podcast.
