Nl: Het was een koude winteravond in de Jordaan.
En: It was a cold winter evening in the Jordaan.

Nl: De straten waren verlicht met twinkelende kerstlampjes en de lucht was helder.
En: The streets were lit with twinkling Christmas lights and the sky was clear.

Nl: Bas stond te wachten bij de Prinsengracht, warm ingepakt in zijn dikke jas.
En: Bas was waiting at the Prinsengracht, warmly wrapped in his thick coat.

Nl: Naast hem stonden Sanne en Lotte, zijn trouwe metgezellen.
En: Beside him stood Sanne and Lotte, his faithful companions.

Nl: Sanne glimlachte hoopvol terwijl Lotte een beetje wiebelde van opwinding.
En: Sanne smiled hopefully while Lotte wiggled a bit with excitement.

Nl: "Het is bijna Oudjaarsavond," zei Sanne vrolijk.
En: "It's almost New Year's Eve," said Sanne cheerfully.

Nl: "Wat een perfecte avond voor een rondvaart."
En: "What a perfect evening for a boat tour."

Nl: "Bas, maak je niet zo druk," zei Lotte terwijl ze zich tegen hem aan nestelde.
En: "Bas, don't worry so much," said Lotte as she snuggled up to him.

Nl: "Het leven is een avontuur.
En: "Life is an adventure.

Nl: Kijk maar naar mij!
En: Just look at me!

Nl: Soms weet ik ook niet wat de volgende stap is, maar dat maakt het juist spannend."
En: Sometimes I also don't know what the next step is, but that's what makes it exciting."
