Nl: Forsyth Park lag onder een dunne laag winterse kou.
En: Forsyth Park lay under a thin layer of winter chill.

Nl: De eikenbomen stonden hoog, hun takken versierd met Spaanse mos.
En: The oak trees stood tall, their branches adorned with Spanish moss.

Nl: Het was een drukte van belang, mensen lachten en praatten, voorbereid op de viering van Oud en Nieuw.
En: It was a bustle of activity, people laughing and talking, prepared for the New Year's Eve celebration.

Nl: Zuidelijke gezelligheid vulde de lucht.
En: Southern hospitality filled the air.

Nl: Femke stopte en liet haar blik dwalen over het park.
En: Femke stopped and let her gaze wander over the park.

Nl: Ze dacht aan Nederland, aan thuis.
En: She thought of Nederland, of home.

Nl: Ze kende nog niet veel mensen in Savannah, en tijdens de feestdagen voelde ze zich extra eenzaam.
