Story Transcript:

Ja: 秋の風が赤と金の落ち葉を庭に舞い散らせる中、大きな家は七五三の準備でにぎわっていました。
En: As the autumn wind scattered red and gold leaves across the garden, the large house was bustling with preparations for Shichi-Go-San.

Ja: ハルトは部屋の窓からその景色を眺めていました。
En: Haruto was gazing at the scene from his room window.

Ja: 彼は最近、手術を受けて、その回復のためベッドからほとんど動けません。
En: He had recently undergone surgery and was mostly confined to his bed to recover.

Ja: 家族はハルトのことを大事に思い、休ませようとしていますが、ハルトは心に穴が空いたように感じていました。
En: His family cared deeply for him and wanted him to rest, but Haruto felt as if there was a hole in his heart.

Ja: 彼も準備に参加したかったのです。
En: He wanted to join the preparations too.

Ja: ハルトのいとこ、七歳のレイカは、色とりどりの着物を身にまとい七五三を楽しみにしていました。
En: Haruto's cousin, seven-year-old Reika, was dressed in a colorful kimono and eagerly looking forward to Shichi-Go-San.

Ja: しかし、彼女もハルトのことを心配していました。
En: However, she was also concerned about Haruto.

Ja: 「ハルトくん、一緒に楽しもうよ」とレイカは言いながら、彼の部屋を訪れました。
En: "Let's enjoy this together, Haruto-kun," said Reika as she visited his room.

Ja: レイカはそっとハルトのベッドに祭りの飾りを持ち込みました。
En: Reika quietly brought some festival decorations to Haruto's bed.

Ja: 色鮮やかな紙飾りや小さな竹の笛です。
En: They were brightly colored paper decorations and a small bamboo flute.

Ja: 「これで少しはお祭り気分になれるかな?」とレイカは微笑みました。
En: "Will this help you feel a bit like you're at the celebration?" she smiled.

Ja: ハルトはその心遣いに少し心が軽くなりました。
En: The thoughtfulness lightened Haruto's heart a little.

Ja: しかし、大人たちは「ハルトが無理をしないように」とまだ彼を見守っていました。
En: However, the adults continued to watch over him, saying, "Let’s make sure Haruto doesn’t overdo it."

Ja: ハルトはそれに対して何も言えませんでしたが、心の中ではモヤモヤが晴れませんでした。
En: While Haruto couldn't say anything in response, the cloudy feeling inside him didn't clear away.

En: The proposal delighted the family.

Ja: 家族全員がハルトの部屋に集まりました。
En: Everyone gathered in Haruto's room.

Ja: ハルトは初めて手作りの笛を吹きました。
En: For the first time, Haruto played the handmade flute.

Ja: 音はあまり出ませんでしたが、みんなが拍手しました。
En: It didn't produce much sound, but everyone applauded.

Ja: そして、家族はハルトに「一緒にいられて嬉しい」と伝えました。
