Ru: В Санкт-Петербурге, в сердце старинного квартала, стояла огромная школа-интернат с высокими, коваными воротами и булыжными дорожками.
En: In Saint Petersburg, in the heart of an old district, stood a huge boarding school with tall, wrought-iron gates and cobblestone paths.

Ru: Деревья, которые окружали здание, уже сбросили свои листья, и их голые ветки пронзали серое небо.
En: The trees surrounding the building had already shed their leaves, and their bare branches pierced the gray sky.

Ru: Воздух был холодным, и облака пара вылетали изо рта каждого студента, спешащего на уроки.
En: The air was cold, and clouds of vapor came out of the mouth of every student hurrying to class.

Ru: В середине этого оживленного утра Михаил, известный своими шутками и проделками, почувствовал скуку.
En: In the midst of this bustling morning, Mikhail, known for his jokes and pranks, felt bored.

Ru: Его воображение зашло так далеко, что он придумал идею устроить необычную битву снежками, чтобы развеселить всех.
