Story Transcript:

Tr: Kerem, günlerden bir gün, geniş aile evinin bahçesinde garip bir telaş yaratıyordu.
En: Kerem, one day, was creating strange commotion in the garden of their large family home.

Tr: Sararan yapraklar hafif rüzgarla uçuşurken, Kerem dev bir şişme hindiyle uğraşıyordu.
En: As the yellowing leaves fluttered with a gentle breeze, Kerem was dealing with a giant inflatable turkey.

Tr: Herkesin bildiği gibi, Türkiye'de Şükran Günü kutlanmazdı.
En: As everyone knows, Thanksgiving is not celebrated in Türkiye.

Tr: Ancak Kerem, Amerikan kültürüne olan ilgisinden dolayı bunu kutlamaya karar vermişti.
En: However, due to his interest in American culture, Kerem had decided to celebrate it.

Tr: Emine, kardeşi, bu durumu pek fazla ciddiye almıyordu.
En: His sister, Emine, wasn't taking this situation too seriously.

Tr: O sadece evde huzur isterdi.
En: She just wanted peace at home.

Tr: Ali ise, kuzenleriyle her türlü eğlenceli işe giren çılgın biriydi.
En: Ali, on the other hand, was a crazy guy who got involved in all sorts of fun with his cousins.

Tr: Kerem'in çabasını görünce gülmeye başladı.
En: When he saw Kerem's effort, he began to laugh.

En: "Kerem, you're serious, aren't you?" he asked with laughter.

Tr: Kerem ciddi bir yüzle, "Evet, kesinlikle!" dedi.
En: Kerem replied with a serious face, "Yes, absolutely!"

Tr: Ama işler pek yolunda gitmiyordu.
En: But things were not going well.

En: The giant turkey was swaying back and forth with the wind, exciting both Kerem and the onlookers.

Tr: Anne ve babası, içeride oturmuş çaylarını yudumlarken, dışardan gelen sesleri merak ediyorlardı.
En: His parents, sipping their tea inside, were curious about the noise coming from outside.

En: "What’s all that noise?" their mother asked Emine, who looked out from the balcony with an annoyed expression.

Tr: Kerem sonunda Ali'den yardım istedi.
En: Kerem finally asked for Ali's help.

Tr: "Ali, bunu sağlam bir yere sabitlememiz gerek, yoksa uçup gidecek!" dedi.
En: "Ali, we need to secure this to a stable place, or it'll fly away!" he said.

Tr: İkisi birlikte çalışmaya başladılar.
En: The two of them began working together.

En: They looked for rope, found stones, and tried to decide on the best spot for the giant turkey.

Tr: Ama işler her zaman planlandığı gibi gitmezdi.
En: But things don't always go as planned.

En: Just as the turkey was secured in place, a sudden gust of wind blew, and the turkey began to deflate with a loud 'pssst' sound.

Tr: Bu sırada Emine, ailesini dışarıya çıkartmış, Kerem'in yaptığı işi göstermeye çalışıyordu.
En: Meanwhile, Emine had brought their family outside to show them what Kerem had been working on.

Tr: Aile, bahçeye çıktığında karşılaştıkları manzara karşısında kahkahalara boğuldu.
En: When the family came out to the garden, they burst into laughter...
