Af: Die laat lente son se strale skyn deur die venster van Anika en Johan se koshuiskamer.
En: The late spring sun's rays shine through the window of Anika and Johan's dorm room.

Af: Die kamer is klein, amper knus, met boeke op die vloer en onopgemaakte beddens.
En: The room is small, almost cozy, with books on the floor and unmade beds.

Af: Die geur van pasoep hang in die lug buite.
En: The scent of pea soup hangs in the air outside.

Af: Op die lessenaar lê 'n raadselagtige nota wat onmiddellik Anika se aandag trek.
En: On the desk lies a mysterious note that immediately catches Anika's attention.

Af: Op die nota staan: "By die ou eikeboom, waar geheime saamkom."
En: The note reads: "By the old oak tree, where secrets gather."

Af: Anika raak nuuskierig.
En: Anika becomes curious.

Af: Sy draai die nota in haar hande, opgewonde oor die moontlikheid van 'n misterie wat op die ontknoping wag.
