Story Transcript:

En: The autumn Monday began in sunlight, but with a hint of chill that slowly crept into the air.

En: The small suburban neighborhood, where Jakub and Lenka lived, was brightened by the colors of falling leaves.

Cs: Trávníky byly posety zlatými a hnědými listy, tvořícími barevné koberce pod stromy.
En: The lawns were dotted with golden and brown leaves, forming colorful carpets under the trees.

Cs: Jakub stál na dvorku s hráběmi v ruce, odhodlán dokončit úklid předtím, než udeří první podzimní deště.
En: Jakub stood in the yard with a rake in hand, determined to finish the cleanup before the first autumn rains hit.

Cs: Nevěnoval pozornost, když mu náhle podklouzla noha na mokrém listí.
En: He wasn't paying attention when his foot suddenly slipped on the wet leaves.

Cs: S bolestivým zasténáním upadl na zem.
En: With a painful groan, he fell to the ground.

Cs: Pocítil prudkou bolest v kotníku.
En: He felt a sharp pain in his ankle.

Cs: Zatnul zuby a pokusil se postavit.
En: He gritted his teeth and tried to stand up.

Cs: Bolest však byla příliš velká.
En: However, the pain was too great.

En: Jakub, who always tried to handle everything himself, now faced a harsh reality.

Cs: Nemohl dokončit práci, kterou začal.
En: He could not complete the work he had started.

En: While sitting on the ground and resting, he noticed his neighbor Vojta just coming out of his house.

En: With hesitation, he waved at Vojta, who hurried over to him.

Cs: "Potřebuješ pomoct, Jakube?"
En: "Do you need help, Jakub?"

Cs: zeptal se Vojta, když k němu doběhl.
En: asked Vojta as he ran up to him.

Cs: Jakub se unaveně pousmál.
En: Jakub gave a weary smile.

Cs: "Jo, byl bych rád.
En: "Yeah, I'd appreciate it.

Cs: Špatně jsem došlápl."
En: I stepped wrong."

Cs: Vojta bez váhání vzal hrábě a začal hrabat listí.
En: Without hesitation, Vojta took the rake and started raking the leaves.

En: Jakub leaned against the bench with gratitude and watched Vojta work.

En: It was hard to accept that this time he needed help, but he knew that without Vojta he wouldn't manage.

Cs: Jak se den skláněl ke konci, obloha se zatemnila a začaly padat první kapky deště.
En: As the day drew to a close, the sky darkened and the first drops of rain began to fall.

Cs: Vojta právě skončil a listí byla všechna shrabaná.
En: Vojta had just finished, and all the leaves were raked up.

Cs: Jakub se k němu s malým úsměvem otočil.
En: Jakub turned to him with a small smile.

Cs: "Díky, Vojto.
En: "Thanks, Vojta.

Cs: Vážně mi to hodně pomohlo."
En: It really helped me a lot."

Cs: Vřelost v Jakubově hlase nebyla jen...
