Story Transcript:

Cs: Pražské Staroměstské náměstí bylo plné života.
En: The Staroměstské náměstí in Praha was full of life.

Cs: Stánky s ozdobami, vůně svařáku a koledy obklopovaly Jirku, Pavlínu a Vojtu.
En: Stalls with decorations, the scent of mulled wine, and carols surrounded Jirka, Pavlína, and Vojta.

Cs: Bylo to období Adventu.
En: It was the Advent season.

En: People laughed, children played, and lights twinkled on Christmas trees.

Cs: Byl chladný podzimní den, ale dýchlo z něj teplo svátků.
En: It was a cold autumn day, but there was warmth in the air of the holidays.

Cs: Jirka byl plný energie.
En: Jirka was full of energy.

Cs: "Pojďme najít tu nejlepší vánoční ozdobu!" nadšeně řekl. Jeho oči zářily, když procházel trhem.
En: "Let's find the best Christmas decoration!" he said enthusiastically, his eyes shining as he walked through the market.

Cs: "Bude to symbol naší přátelství."
En: "It will be a symbol of our friendship."

Cs: Pavlína jen pokrčila rameny.
En: Pavlína just shrugged.

Cs: "Raději bych měla něco teplého k pití," uvažovala, když ji ledový vítr štípal do tváří.
En: "I'd rather have something warm to drink," she pondered as the icy wind pinched her cheeks.

Cs: Mírně se zamračila nad všemi stánky plnými cetek.
En: She frowned slightly at all the stalls full of trinkets.

En: "It seems like it's more about money than about Christmas," she added skeptically.

En: Vojta smiled calmly, but there was a shadow of melancholy in his eyes.

Cs: "Vánoce vždycky trávím s rodinou, vzpomínám na staré časy.
En: "I always spend Christmas with my family, remembering old times.

Cs: Tady je jinak," řekl tiše, pohlédnouc na květinové stánky, kde prodávali tradiční vánoční ozdoby.
En: It's different here," he said quietly, looking at the flower stalls selling traditional Christmas decorations.

Cs: Jirka se nezastavil.
En: Jirka didn't stop.

Cs: "Pojďme, najdeme ty pravé věci," pobízel své přátele.
En: "Come on, let's find the right things," he urged his friends.

Cs: Pavlína a Vojta ho následovali, byť každý s vlastními myšlenkami.
En: Pavlína and Vojta followed him, each with their own thoughts.

Cs: Čím více stánků prošli, tím více Jirka cítil vánoční zázrak ve vzduchu.
En: The more stalls they passed, the more Jirka felt the Christmas miracle in the air.

Cs: Když dorazili k jednomu ze stánků, Pavlína náhle zazářila.
En: When they reached one of the stalls, Pavlína suddenly beamed.

En: "Look, Jirko!" she exclaimed, pointing at a small heart-shaped ornament.

En: "Do you remember how we used to draw hearts in the sand as kids on trips?"

Cs: Tohle překvapilo Jirku.
En: This surprised Jirka.

Cs: Usmál se a přikývl.
En: He smiled and nodded.

Cs: "Ano, to je perfektní! Díky, Pavlíno."
En: "Yes, that's perfect! Thanks, Pavlíno."

Cs: Vojta se pokusil nedat najevo své dojetí.
En: Vojta tried not to show his emotions.
