Cs: Podzimní vítr foukal alejmi, barevné listí se točilo ve vzduchu.
En: The autumn wind blew through the alleys, colorful leaves swirling in the air.

Cs: V tiché čtvrti, kde domy stály jako řada pevných strážců, se připravovalo něco zvláštního.
En: In the quiet neighborhood, where houses stood like a row of steadfast guardians, something special was being prepared.

Cs: Dům Jirky a Kateriny byl plný života.
En: The house of Jirka and Katerina was full of life.

Cs: Uvnitř kuchyně Katerina míchala těsto na koláče.
En: Inside the kitchen, Katerina was stirring dough for the pies.

Cs: "Upečeme makový koláč," řekla vesele, "a gotové, máme i štrúdl!"
En: "We'll bake a poppy seed cake," she said cheerfully, "and guess what, we've got strudel too!"
