Story Transcript:

Cs: V Praze, v Botanické zahradě, kde podzim maloval listy do červených a zlatých odstínů, pohlédl Jiří dolů na zem.
En: In Praha, in the Botanická zahrada, where autumn painted the leaves in shades of red and gold, Jiří looked down at the ground.

Cs: Cestou ke starému skleníku mu pod nohama praskaly suché listy.
En: On his way to the old greenhouse, dry leaves cracked under his feet.

En: It was late afternoon, and the light was slowly transforming into soft gray shadows that enveloped the garden.

Cs: Jiřího fascinovaly vzácné rostliny.
En: Jiří was fascinated by rare plants.

Cs: Jako botanik trávil hodiny mezi květinami a hledal něco nového.
En: As a botanist, he spent hours among the flowers searching for something new.

Cs: Jeden obyčejný den v září však našel něco nezvyklého – květina kvetla, i když neměla dávno kvést.
En: However, one ordinary day in September, he found something unusual—a flower was blooming even though it wasn't supposed to bloom for a long time.

Cs: Navíc neměla v žádném katalogu místo.
En: Moreover, it didn't have a place in any catalog.

Cs: Nikdo ji neznal, nikdo o ní neslyšel.
En: No one knew it; no one had heard of it.

En: With concern, Jiří looked at Eva and Marek, his colleagues from the garden.

Cs: Eva se skepticky podívala na květinu.
En: Eva looked at the flower skeptically.

Cs: "Tohle jsem nikdy neviděla," připustila.
En: "I've never seen anything like this," she admitted.

Cs: Marek jen pokrčil rameny.
En: Marek just shrugged.

Cs: "Možná to jen špatně vidíme.
En: "Maybe we're just seeing it wrong.

Cs: Přece nemůže jen tak vykvést," řekl.
En: It can't just bloom like that," he said.

En: But Jiří knew there was something more hidden here.

Cs: Rozhodl se zůstat v zahradě přes noc, aby to zjistil.
En: He decided to stay in the garden overnight to find out.

En: He didn't mind the cold night and the silence that engulfed the garden.

Cs: Obloha se zatáhla a měsíc osvětloval rostliny kolem.
En: The sky clouded over, and the moon illuminated the plants around.

Cs: Seděl v tichu a sledoval květinu.
En: He sat in silence and watched the flower.

Cs: Náhle měsíční světlo projelo skrz tmavé mraky.
En: Suddenly, moonlight pierced through the dark clouds.

En: It illuminated the flower, and Jiří saw with amazement how strange symbols appeared on its petals.

En: It seemed that the moon had revealed a pattern reminiscent of ancient signs.

Cs: Jiří rychle fotografoval, měřil a psal poznámky.
En: Jiří quickly photographed, measured, and took notes.

Cs: Cítil, že má v rukou důkaz něčeho významného.
En: He felt that he had evidence of something significant in his hands.

Cs: Ráno, když první sluneční paprsky osvětlily zahradu, Jiří už měl dostatek materiálu, který vzbudil zájem vědecké komunity.
En: In the...
