Story Transcript:

Fi: Aino istui hiljaa junassa, joka kiisi eteenpäin kohti uutta koulua.
En: Aino sat quietly on the train that sped forward towards her new school.

Fi: Syksyn lehdet loistivat kirkkaina ikkunan takana, ja tuuli tanssi puiden latvoissa.
En: The autumn leaves glowed brightly outside the window, and the wind danced in the treetops.

Fi: Aino puristi matkalaukkuaan tiukasti ja yritti karistaa pelon tunteen.
En: Aino clutched her suitcase tightly and tried to shake off the feeling of fear.

Fi: Hän oli matkalla sisäoppilaitokseen pikkuruisessa suomalaisessa kylässä, kaukana kotoa.
En: She was on her way to a boarding school in a tiny Finnish village, far from home.

En: She was nervous about meeting new people and how she would fit in.

Fi: Kun juna pysähtyi pienellä asemalla, Aino astui hapuillen alas.
En: When the train stopped at the small station, Aino stepped down hesitantly.

En: The school was found beyond a fenced forest, and its stone walls looked inviting in the autumn's splendor.

Fi: Hän huomasi toisten oppilaiden liikkuvan ilmassa huolettomina ja iloisina.
En: She noticed the other students moving around carefree and happy.

En: Aino immediately noticed Mikko and Leena, but she didn’t dare to say anything yet.

Fi: Ensimmäiset päivät tuntuivat pitkiltä.
En: The first few days felt long.

Fi: Aino kaipasi kotoa tuttua lämpöä ja turvallisuutta.
En: Aino missed the familiar warmth and safety of home.

Fi: Hän katseli muita oppilaita etäältä, toivoen löytävänsä paikkansa.
En: She watched other students from a distance, hoping to find her place.

Fi: Eräänä iltana hän kuuli puhetta kerhotoiminnasta.
En: One evening, she heard talk about club activities.

Fi: Hän päätti rohkaistua ja liittyä taidekerhoon.
En: She decided to be brave and join the art club.

En: In the art club, everyone gathered in a large classroom full of colors and enthusiasm.

Fi: Aluksi Aino istui hiljaa, seuraten toisia.
En: At first, Aino sat quietly, observing others.

En: But gradually she allowed herself to take up a brush and start painting.

En: One day they worked on a group project.

Fi: Aino pakottautui osallistumaan aktiivisemmin.
En: Aino forced herself to participate more actively.

Fi: Hän huomasi Mikon ja Leenan työskentelevän yhdessä hänen kanssaan.
En: She realized Mikko and Leena were working together with her.

En: They discovered they all had a similar love for nature and drawing.
