En: The Helsinki metro station was full of people hurrying to shield themselves from the biting winter wind.

En: This would make the work faster and more efficient, and he might even convince his supervisor of a promotion.

Fi: Hänen kollegansa Mika suhtautui asiaan kevyemmin.
En: His colleague Mika took the matter more lightly.

Fi: "Miksi muutamme, mikä ei ole rikki?"
En: "Why change what's not broken?"

Fi: Mika sanoi usein, katsellen kokovartalokuvanaan leviäviä lumikiteitä ikkunan takana.
En: Mika often said, watching the snowflakes spread like a full-length portrait past the window.

Fi: Mika ei uskonut uudenvuodenlupauksiin, ja hänen mielestään Eeron systeemi oli liiallista vaivannäköä.
En: Mika didn't believe in New Year's resolutions, and in his opinion, Eero's system was too much trouble.

Fi: Eero ei ottanut tätä henkilökohtaisesti.
En: Eero didn't take this personally.

Fi: Hän tiesi, että he olivat erilaisia.
En: He knew they were different.

Fi: Eero alkoi toteuttaa pieniä muutoksia salaa.
