Story Transcript:

Fi: Koulun kampus oli täynnä syksyn värejä.
En: The school campus was full of the colors of fall.

Fi: Lehdet leijailivat maahan, muodostaen värikkäitä kasoja jalkakäytäville.
En: The leaves floated to the ground, forming colorful piles on the sidewalks.

En: The dorm where Aino, Mikko, and Liisa lived was filled with exam books and notes piled on tables and bed corners.

Fi: Ulkona viileä tuuli hiveli poskia ja muistutti lähestyvästä talvesta.
En: Outside, the cool breeze caressed their cheeks, reminding them of the approaching winter.

Fi: Aino istui pöytänsä ääressä, syventyneenä fysiikan muistiinpanoihin.
En: Aino sat at her desk, engrossed in her physics notes.

En: Her mind was full of formulas and calculations, but the real weight lay on her mind—the need to score full points on every exam.

Fi: "Miten menee?"
En: "How's it going?"

Fi: Mikko kysyi, nojautuen oven karmiin rennosti.
En: Mikko asked, leaning casually against the doorframe.

Fi: Hänen huoneensa tuoksui keittimen yllä porisevalta kahvilta, ja hänellä oli tapana muistuttaa Ainoa taukojen tarpeellisuudesta.
En: His room smelled like coffee brewing on a percolator, and he had a habit of reminding Aino of the necessity of breaks.

En: "It's going well, but there's so much to do," Aino replied, a bit exhausted.

Fi: Mikko asteli hänen luokseen ja laski kirjansa pöydälle.
En: Mikko walked up to her and placed his book on the table.

Fi: "Kuule, Liisa ja minä järjestämme Thanksgiving-illallisen.
En: "Listen, Liisa and I are organizing a Thanksgiving dinner.

Fi: Tuletko mukaan?
En: Will you join us?

Fi: Tarvitset tauon," Mikko ehdotti lämpimästi.
En: You need a break," Mikko suggested warmly.

Fi: Aino epäröi.
En: Aino hesitated.

Fi: Hän ajatteli yötä, jolloin voisi käydä vielä kerran fysiikan kaavat läpi huomenna olevaan tenttiin.
En: She thought about the night, when she could review the physics formulas once more for tomorrow's exam.

En: But at the same time, she knew she longed for the company of her friends and good food.

Fi: Liisa saapui huoneeseen paahtopaisti kädessään.
En: Liisa arrived in the room with a roast in hand.

Fi: "Tervetuloa mukaan, Aino!
En: "Welcome to join, Aino!

En: It's only once a year," she chuckled.

En: The decision weighed on Aino's mind, but finally, she sighed and smiled.

Fi: "No hyvä on, tulen mukaan," hän sanoi.
En: "Alright, I'll come," she said.

Fi: Illallisesta tuli lämmin ja ikimuistoinen.
En: The dinner became warm and memorable.

Fi: Dormin pieni keittiö täyttyi naurulla ja tuoreiden piirakoiden tuoksulla.
En: The small kitchen of the dorm was filled with laughter and the scent of fresh pies.

Fi: Kynttilät loivat pehmeän valon, ja...
