Story Transcript:

Fi: Henrik käveli kohti Capitol Buildingin suuria ovia, hengittäen syvään syksyistä ilmaa.
En: Henrik walked toward the large doors of the Capitol Building, breathing deeply the autumn air.

Fi: Pian hän astuisi sisään tuohon historialliseen rakennukseen, jossa suurten maiden edustajat odottivat hänen puhettaan tärkeässä konferenssissa.
En: Soon, he would step inside that historic building where representatives of great nations awaited his speech at an important conference.

Fi: Tämä oli hänen mahdollisuutensa vakuuttaa maailman johtajat yhdistymään ympäristön pelastamiseksi.
En: This was his opportunity to persuade world leaders to unite for the sake of saving the environment.

Fi: Kaisa, Henrikille läheinen kollega, kulki hänen vierellään.
En: Kaisa, a close colleague of Henrik, walked beside him.

Fi: Hän yritti keventää Henrik'in oloa pienellä vitsillä.
En: She tried to lighten Henrik's mood with a little joke.

Fi: Juhani, Henrikin pitkäaikainen ystävä ja uskottu tukija, liittyi heidän seuraansa.
En: Juhani, Henrik's long-time friend and trusted supporter, joined them.

En: "Just remember to be yourself," Juhani advised.

En: Henrik knew he was being handled kindly, but the pressure to persuade everyone was still immense.

Fi: Sisällä Capitol Buildingissa atmosfääri oli täynnä jännitystä.
En: Inside the Capitol Building, the atmosphere was full of tension.

Fi: Lattia hohti marmorisena ja yläpuolella kohoavat pylväät koristeltiin upeilla syksyn seppeleillä.
En: The floor gleamed marbly, and the towering columns above were adorned with magnificent autumn wreaths.

En: Henrik felt a slight longing, noting that Thanksgiving wasn’t a Finnish celebration, but its spirit felt particularly appropriate today for an endeavor to thank and unite.

Fi: Hänen askeleensa toivat hänet konferenssihuoneeseen.
En: His steps led him to the conference room.

Fi: Henrik kävi viimeisen kerran läpi valtimessaan hengityksen hänelle valmistetusta puheesta ja hypisteli paperia ahdistuneena.
En: Henrik took one last calming breath, rehearsing the speech prepared for him and fidgeting the paper anxiously.

En: Then he recalled a conversation with a local environmental activist, who had touched his heart with stories of local impacts of the climate crisis.

En: He knew the prepared speech would no longer suffice.

Fi: Kun Henrik astui lavalle, hän pani paperit syrjään.
En: As Henrik stepped onto the stage, he set the papers aside.

Fi: Cauken katseet olivat hänessä.
En: Eyes from all sides were on him.

Fi: Hän aloitti kertomalla, kuinka pienet teot voivat johtaa suuriin muutoksiin ja kuinka yhdessä työskentely on elintärkeää.
En: He began by explaining how small actions can lead to significant changes and how working together is crucial.

Fi: Hänen puheensa muuttui...
