Story Transcript:

Fi: Eero seisoi kotipihan edessä valtavan joulukuusen kanssa.
En: Eero stood in front of the yard with a massive Christmas tree.

Fi: Oli syksyinen iltapäivä, ja lumi leijaili hiljaa maahan.
En: It was an autumn afternoon, and the snow was gently falling to the ground.

Fi: Kodikkaassa omakotitalossa, jonka sisällä tuoksuivat piparkakut ja vastaleivottu pulla, Eero oli tehnyt merkittävän löydön.
En: In the cozy detached house, where the smell of gingerbread and freshly baked buns lingered, Eero had made a significant discovery.

Fi: Hän oli varma, että tämä oli suurin ja komein joulukuusi, mitä heidän perheensä oli koskaan nähnyt.
En: He was certain that this was the biggest and most magnificent Christmas tree his family had ever seen.

Fi: Talon sisällä Liisa ja Aino, Eeron vaimo ja tytär, valmistelivat Martinpäivän perinteistä juhla-ateriaa.
En: Inside the house, Liisa and Aino, Eero's wife and daughter, were preparing the traditional Martinpäivä dinner.

Fi: Liisa nauroi sisään päin kuullessaan Eeron tutun yskäisyn, joka kertoi ponnistelusta.
En: Liisa chuckled to herself when she heard Eero's familiar cough, a sign of his exertion.

Fi: Hän vilkaisi Ainoa silmiin ja virnisti.
En: She glanced at Aino's eyes and grinned.

Fi: He tiesivät, mitä oli tulossa.
En: They knew what was coming.

Fi: Eero yritti sovittaa kuusta etuovesta sisään.
En: Eero attempted to fit the tree through the front door.

Fi: Se oli helpommin sanottu kuin tehty.
En: It was easier said than done.

Fi: Ovi tuntui kutistuneen, kun kuusen leveät oksat rapsuttivat ovenkarmia vasten.
En: The door seemed to have shrunk as the tree's wide branches scratched against the door frame.

Fi: "Tämä on kyllä hyvää laatua!
En: "This is definitely good quality!"

Fi: " Eero vakuutteli katsoessaan ylös kuusen latvaa, joka heilui uhkaavasti.
En: Eero assured as he looked up at the tree's top, which swayed menacingly.

Fi: Liisa ja Aino ilmestyivät eteiseen, hymyillen.
En: Liisa and Aino appeared in the entrance hall, smiling.

Fi: "Eero, luuletko todellakin, että tuo kuusi mahtuu?
En: "Eero, do you really think that tree will fit?"

Fi: " Liisa kysyi hyväntahtoisesti.
En: Liisa asked kindly.

Fi: "Luulen, että se vaatii hieman luovuutta," Eero vastasi, pyyhkien hikeä otsaltaan.
En: "I think it requires a bit of creativity," Eero replied, wiping sweat from his forehead.

Fi: Hän ehdotti, että he katkoisivat muutamia oksia.
En: He suggested they cut off a few branches.

Fi: Liisa haki sahaa, ja Eero alkoi leikata innokkaasti.
En: Liisa fetched a saw, and Eero began cutting eagerly.

Fi: Kun nuoletutoksista huolimatta kuusi ei suostunut myöntämään, että oveen mahtuminen olisi helppoa, perhe päätti kokeilla jotain uutta.
En: Despite their trimming efforts, the tree refused to concede that fitting through the door would be easy.

Fi: He käyttivät köyttä, ja naapurin koiraa, Rikkua, houkuteltiin pikkuleivillä vetämään kuusta kannoissaan.
En: The family decided to try something new.

Fi: Vihdoin kolmen pyörityksen jälkeen ja strategisella kallistuksella kuusi saatiin vihdoin sisään.
En: They used a rope, and the neighbor's dog, Rikku, was enticed with cookies to help pull the tree along.

Fi: Kotona seurasi naurunpyrskähdys, kun kuusi syöksyi lopulta lattialle ja latva...
