Ro: Într-o dimineață răcoroasă de toamnă, Andrei stătea în bucătăria mare și primitoare a casei familiei sale.
En: On a cool autumn morning, Andrei was sitting in the large, welcoming kitchen of his family’s home.

Ro: Lumina soarelui se spărgea printre frunzele ruginii ale copacilor de afară și pătrundea prin ferestrele mari.
En: The sunlight broke through the rusty leaves of the trees outside and streamed through the large windows.

Ro: Aroma dulce de scorțișoară și mere coapte umplea aerul.
En: The sweet aroma of cinnamon and baked apples filled the air.

Ro: Andrei, un tânăr mereu curios, cotrobăia printr-un sertar vechi în căutarea unui secret bine păstrat - rețeta de supă a străbunicii lor.
En: Andrei, a young man always curious, was rummaging through an old drawer searching for a well-kept secret - their great-grandmother's soup recipe.

Ro: "Raluca, vino să vezi!" strigă el, fluturând o foaie de hârtie îngălbenită de timp.
En: "Raluca, come and see!" he shouted, waving a yellowed sheet of paper.

Ro: Raluca, sora sa, intră în bucătărie.
En: Raluca, his sister, entered the kitchen.

Ro: Era mai precaută decât Andrei, dar nu putea rezista chemării unei aventuri promițătoare.
En: She was more cautious than Andrei, but she couldn't resist the call of a promising adventure.

Ro: "Ce ai găsit?" întrebă ea mai cu jumătate de suflet, știind bine cât de plin de surprize putea fi fratele său.
En: "What did you find?" she asked, only half-invested, knowing well how full of surprises her brother could be.

Ro: "Străbunica avea o rețetă secretă de supă.
En: "Great-grandmother had a secret soup recipe.

En: And it's perfect for the family gathering this Sunday!

Ro: Dar, uite aici..." Andrei arătă spre un ingredient misterios, scris cu o caligrafie veche și aproape indeșlușibilă.
En: But look here..." Andrei pointed to a mysterious ingredient, written in an old and nearly illegible handwriting.

Ro: "Oua de aur!" citi Raluca cu neîncredere.
En: "Oua de aur!" read Raluca in disbelief.

Ro: "Andrei, asta e nebunie.
En: "Andrei, this is madness.

Ro: De unde să luăm noi așa ceva?"
En: Where are we going to find such a thing?"

Ro: Andrei nu se lăsă descurajat.
En: Andrei was not discouraged.

Ro: "Nu știi niciodată până nu încerci.
En: "You never know until you try.

Ro: Vină cu mine să vedem ce putem face!"
En: Come with me to see what we can do!"

Ro: Era clar că Raluca ezita, dar ceva în entuziasmul lui Andrei o molipsi.
En: It was clear that Raluca hesitated, but something in Andrei's enthusiasm was contagious.

Ro: Așa că se îmbrăcară cu haine groase și porniră în aventura lor prin târgul din oraș.
En: So they dressed in warm clothes and set out on their adventure through the city market.

Ro: Aveau să descopere câteva „ouă de aur” sub forma unor ciuperci rare și aurii, care erau puse în vânzare de către un bătrân tare simpatic.
