En: The winter air in the Bratislava suburb was full of hope.

Sk: Svetlá viseli z budov a zmiešaný vôňou škorice a perníkov zapĺňal ulice.
En: Lights hung from the buildings, and a mix of the scent of cinnamon and gingerbread filled the streets.

Sk: Jana sedela pri svojom pracovnom stole, pohltená v úlohách.
En: Jana was sitting at her desk, immersed in tasks.

Sk: Vedela, že vonku sú Vianočné trhy – jej obľúbené miesto už od detstva.
En: She knew that the Christmas markets were outside – her favorite place since childhood.

Sk: V posledných týždňoch bola zaneprázdnená prácou, ale cítila, ako ju to oddeľovalo od miestnej komunity.
