En: In Poprad, snow was falling and the frost was biting at faces.
Sk: Marek stál na kovovej lavičke vo vestibule polícejnej stanice.
En: Marek stood on a metal bench in the waiting area of the police station.
Sk: Oblečený bol v hrubom kabáte a čiapke, no bolo to márne.
En: He was dressed in a thick coat and hat, but it was futile.
Sk: Bol prechladnutý a nervózny.
En: He was cold and nervous.
Sk: Náhlil sa z Bratislavy domov na sviatky, no cesta sa mu nečakane skomplikovala.
En: He was hurrying from Bratislava home for the holidays, but his journey unexpectedly became complicated.
Sk: Keď vlak zastavil v Poprade, zistil, že jeho batoh, obsahujúci notebook a všetky dôležité študijné materiály, je preč.

En: His voice was trembling.
Sk: „Áno, pripomeňte mi, z čoho sa vlastne skladá váš batoh?
En: "Yes, remind me, what exactly does your backpack contain?"
Sk: “ spýtala sa Jana bez zbytočných emócií.
En: Jana asked without unnecessary emotion.
Sk: Chápe, že musí byť rýchla, ale spravodlivá.
En: She understood that she had to be quick, but fair.
Sk: „Je tam môj notebook, poznámky, všetko dôležité pre moje skúšky,“ začal vysvetľovať Marek.
En: "My laptop, notes, everything important for my exams is in there," Marek began to explain.
Sk: „Prosím, ja to naozaj potrebujem,“ pokračoval a jeho hlas zosilnel.
En: "Please, I really need it," he continued, and his voice grew stronger.
