Sk: Na trhovisku v Bratislave sa chystal advent.
En: At the marketplace in Bratislava, advent was being prepared.

Sk: Vzduch bol chladný a vonku všade viseli svetlá.
En: The air was cold, and everywhere outside, lights were hanging.

Sk: Stánky sa leskli farbami.
En: The stalls gleamed with colors.

Sk: Vône sladkého punču a varaného vína sa niesli vzduchom.
En: Aromas of sweet punch and mulled wine wafted through the air.

Sk: Zvončeky a smiech zneli zo všetkých strán.
En: Bells and laughter sounded from all sides.

Sk: Marek, mladý muž s večne náročnou povahou, prechádzal medzi stánkami.
En: Marek, a young man with a perpetually demanding nature, was walking among the stalls.

Sk: Bol nadšený.
En: He was excited.

Sk: Blížili sa Vianoce.
En: Christmas was approaching.

Sk: Jeho šťastie však narazilo na prekážku, keď si uvedomil, že jeho byt je stále prázdny.
En: However, his happiness encountered an obstacle when he realized that his apartment was still empty.

Sk: "Mám plán," povedal si pre seba.
En: "I have a plan," he said to himself.

Sk: "Kúpim najkrajší strom a ozdobím ho!
En: "I'll buy the most beautiful tree and decorate it!"

Sk: " Keď dorazil k stánku so stromčekmi, vybral ten najväčší, aký mal predajca.
En: When he arrived at the stall with Christmas trees, he picked the largest one the vendor had.

Sk: Bol unesený jeho krásou.
En: He was captivated by its beauty.

Sk: Bez premýšľania ho kúpil.
En: Without thinking, he bought it.

Sk: Áno, Marek ani na okamih nepomyslel na to, že jeho byt je veľmi malý.
En: Yes, Marek didn't think for a moment that his apartment was very small.

Sk: S úsmevom odviezol strom domov na streche svojho malého auta.
En: He drove the tree home with a smile on the roof of his small car.

Sk: Avšak, radosť z nákupu rýchlo vyprchala, keď si uvedomil, že strom sa nedostane cez dvere jeho bytu.
En: However, the joy of the purchase quickly faded when he realized the tree wouldn't fit through the door of his apartment.

Sk: Bezradný, Marek zavolal svojich priateľov Ivanu a Jozefa.
En: Helpless, Marek called his friends Ivana and Jozef.

Sk: "Potrebujem pomoc!
En: "I need help!"

Sk: " povedal s úškrnom, keď dorazili.
En: he said with a grin when they arrived.

Sk: Ivana sa zasmiala, keď videla ten obrovský strom.
En: Ivana laughed when she saw the giant tree.

Sk: "Marek, ako si to vôbec predstavoval?
En: "Marek, what were you even thinking?"

Sk: " spýtala sa so šibalským úsmevom.
En: she asked with a mischievous smile.

Sk: Spoločne začali hľadať riešenia.
En: Together, they began to look for solutions.

Sk: "Možno ho skúsime trocha orezať," navrhol Jozef.
En: "Maybe we could trim it a bit," suggested Jozef.

Sk: "A zvyšok ozdobíme niečím menším," dodala Ivana.
En: "And we'll decorate the remainder with something smaller," added Ivana.

Sk: Práce sa začali.
En: The work began.

Sk: Strom bol čoskoro orezaný na správnu veľkosť, no pre vyschnutie konárov sa časti museli umiestniť všade možne - na poličky, okolo rámov dverí a dokonca aj nad posteľ.
