On the next episode of Follow, we hosted the talented group at ghost animation.
Based out of Kolkata, A group of 6 animators came together to form Ghost animation, to eventually go on to become one of India’s leading 2D animation studios, breaking boundaries in the space of independent and commercial animated films. Their independent films have been making waves in the animation community globally after being selected at international film festivals like Brooklyn Film Festival, Festival of Animated Film Stuttgart (ITFS) 2020, Animayo Film Festival, Annecy Film Festival and many more. We were able to catch them during their First Flight tour of their short films in Mumbai for an hour long venture into this exciting venture!
On Episode 04 of Season 1 at FOLLOW, we have the exceptionally talented animator and illustrator, Upamanyu Bhattacharyya.
Upamanyu is a multi faceted visual artist from NID, Ahmedabad. An artist who manages to weave social and political commentaries into his story lines seamlessly. Deeply rooted in Indian culture, his modern day interpretations of transhistorical texts and climate change are delightful. As we know, creation of a 2D animation clip/movie is an exhaustive process, Upamanyu manages to create a different world within the conformity of two dimensions with ease. Anyone can be drawn towards his authenticity, nuanced dexterity and just how pragmatic he can be with the entire process of creation.
We are honoured to have him share his insights and on how he chooses to navigate within the design world and discuss his journey as an artist at length.

He is a multi-talented entrepreneur, who is an engineer, artist manager, music director, promoter and Radio host at the The Handsomest Drowned Man In The World on boxout.fm We are delighted to have him share his insights and views on running Sofar, dabbling with different parts of the music industry and what the journey has been like since starting his own artist management agency.
