The Greatest Gift (Week 3)
As we wrap up the year, we explore the greatest gift we could ever receive: the "good news" of Jesus. Just like the excitement of unwrapping a long-awaited present on Christmas morning, God offers us five life-changing gifts that we can choose to open today. These gifts include a clean conscience to leave the past and any shame behind , and deep peace about your future. We also discover how to find real joy in your pain by trusting that God is good even when circumstances are tough. Additionally, we are invited into a life-giving community of people who will cheer you on, and a clear reason to live by discovering your God-given purpose. No matter what your year has looked like, you can finish it differently and start the next with a heart full of hope. Scripture References John 3:16 Hebrews 10:22 James 1:2 John 14:6 Like what you hear? If you feel that what you have heard is for you, and you'd like to be involved, then we would love to hear from you. The Greatest Gift – Giving Sunday (Week 2)
Pastor Josh Cooke continues the series on The Greatest Gift by reflecting on the incredible generosity of God as described in the well-known verse, John 3:16. The core message is that, as we are changed by God, we are also called to be a generous community. This message focuses on the connection between gratitude and generosity. True gratitude begins when we stop feeling entitled and instead choose a life of worship. This worship often leads to generosity, which then brings immense joy. The sermon highlights a recent act of generosity by the church, blessing another local congregation with a significant financial gift, demonstrating that when we open our hands instead of hoarding, we are positioned to receive. As the year ends, the challenge is to look back at God's faithfulness, respond with financial worship, and declare what we are believing for in 2026. Scripture References John 3:16 Psalm 116:12 Luke 17:11-19 Like what you hear? If you feel that what you have heard is for you, and you'd like to be involved, then we would love to hear from you. The Greatest Gift (Week 1)
In this first week of the festive series, Pastor Josh Cooke unpacks the generous heart of God based on the well-known verse, John 3:16. He challenges the idea that generosity is a zero-sum game, explaining that when God’s people are generous, it actually unlocks blessing and favour. Pastor Josh lays a foundation for generosity, reminding us that everything we have comes from God. He discusses the tithe (returning 10% of income to the local church) as God’s strategy to keep us free from the "money problem". He encourages everyone to prepare for Giving Sunday by bringing their faith or a financial offering that is above the tithe as an act of worship. Finally, he looks at the powerful story of the poor widow’s offering to show that Jesus values a sacrificial offering that is rooted in gratitude and trust. Scripture References John 3:16 Acts 20:35 Psalm 24:1 Malachi 3:8-10 Mark 12:41-44 Like what you hear? If you feel that what you have heard is for you, and you'd like to be involved, then we would love to hear from you. Opportunities of Faith
Young, scrappy, and hungry is the call to be an active, bold part of what God is doing! Pastor Gary Snowzell challenges us to move past a passive attitude, asking: do you want to be in the room where it happens? Pastor Gary encourages a "Caleb spirit" that is always ready to take the land, no matter your age. He uses the famous story of the paralysed man lowered through the roof to illustrate that when the front door to opportunity is closed, the young, scrappy, and hungry find another way, even if it’s "uncivilised". We are called to overcome resistance and be devoted to God's "go". It’s about doing whatever it takes to bring others into the presence of Jesus. Scripture References Mark 2:1-12 (NIV) Like what you hear? If you feel that what you have heard is for you, and you'd like to be involved, then we would love to hear from you. Discover Purpose (Discover – Week 4)
Pastor Josh recaps the four-part mission—Discover Jesus, Discover Church, Discover Change, and finally, Discover Purpose. This powerful message unpacks the final part of our church's mission: Discover Purpose. Using the story of a dramatic dog race, we're asked a key question: What are you chasing? The second most important day of your life is when you find out why you were born. Your purpose isn't found in your job or money, but in your unique function within the larger community. We need your specific gift. It's time to take a step and find out what your part is! Scripture References 1 Corinthians 12:15-20 (NIV) Romans 12:6a (NIV) Like what you hear? If you feel that what you have heard is for you, and you'd like to be involved, then we would love to hear from you. Discover Change (Discover – Week 3)
Join Pastor Meg Cooke as she unpacks the biblical concept of change, or metanoia. This Greek word literally means a change of heart and mind and is the foundation of our faith. Pastor Meg reminds us that while change is inspired by God, it is not inevitable—we have to choose it. Pastor Meg shares powerful real-life stories—from former gang leaders and successful professionals to our own lead pastor—who embraced this life-altering transformation. Looking at the story of Stephen and the Sanhedrin in Acts, we're challenged to ask: "What is your temple?" Like the Sanhedrin, we often hold onto things (control, career, old prejudices, or even shame) that give us a false sense of power, purpose, or identity. Meg encourages us to trust God's incredible kindness , knowing that when we lose our life for Christ, we will actually find it and gain back more than we ever let go of. Scripture References Mark 1:15 (NIV) Acts 6:13-14 (NIV) Acts 7:51-53 (NIV) Matthew 16:25 (NIV) 1 Corinthians 2:9 (NIV) Romans 2:4 (NIV) Like what you hear? If you feel that what you have heard is for you, and you'd like to be involved, then we would love to hear from you. Discover Church (Discover – Week 2)
Pastor Josh Cooke, challenges us to consider what it truly means to follow Jesus and be part of His church. Using the beautiful metaphor of Christ and the bride (the church) from Ephesians 5, he questions whether our "vows" to Jesus are focused on Him or are too self-centred. The message is clear. We must live for what Jesus died for - the church. He clarifies that the church is both gathered (meeting together for worship, encouragement, and the Word) and scattered (going out to care for the world, preach the gospel, and heal the city). The church isn't a temporary or peripheral thing; it's meant to be the epicentre of a Christian's life. The call is to get involved, find your part in the body of Christ, and embrace a life of committed following. Scripture Reference Ephesians 5:25-32 John 21:15-17 2 Corinthians 3:18 Hebrews 10:24-25 Matthew 25 1 Corinthians 12:15-20 Like what you hear? If you feel that what you have heard is for you, and you'd like to be involved, then we would love to hear from you. Are you plugged in?
In this powerful message, Bradley Mubenga explores the difference between just showing up to church and being truly "plugged in" to community. Using a funny story about his own laptop battery dying during a power outage, he highlights how easy it is to become comfortable and unaware that our spiritual "battery" is running low. Drawing on the early church in the book of Acts, Bradley shares real stories of people in our church and four awesome reasons why plugging into a community is essential. God will surround you , your generosity can change lives , God will move for you , and community is where you find your deepest healing. Don't live life on 5% battery—get plugged in!. Where is God in my sickness? (Where is God? – Week 4)
Where is God when we are struggling with illness? This message from Pastor Josh Cooke explores the question of suffering and Jesus's power to heal, whether immediately, eventually, or eternally. Through three powerful personal stories, including the incredible healing of a baby and a family member finding Jesus on their deathbed, we see that God is always at work. We then dive into the story of the woman who touched Jesus's cloak to be healed after 12 years of sickness and exclusion. Pastor Josh encourages us to draw near to Jesus with vulnerability, and pray in faith, believing that God still does miracles. He reminds us of the power given to us by the Holy Spirit to see God move today. Scripture References Mark 5:25-34 John 14:12-14 Like what you hear? If you feel that what you have heard is for you, and you'd like to be involved, then we would love to hear from you.
