Polish Roots, American Dreams: Au Pair Stories

Hi everyone! Join us as we learn about Ola's journey a Polish girl who left her homeland to explore life in the United States. Since she was little, she wanted to come to America, she told everyone that she was going to live in America and she did it.

In this episode, she'll tell us about that dream and her experience with the Au pair program. And a realization of how different her life would have turned out if she had never taken that leap and she was still 8 hours away on a plane from the life she had been living for the past 4 years.

Explore the shared experiences and cultural exchanges that bridge the gap between Poland and the USA.

Au-ppressed: A sight into the Au Pair Program

Hey listeners! In this episode, I'm pulling back the curtain to give you an insider's peek into the world of the Au pair program. Let's face it, the reality often doesn't align with the beautiful lies the agencies tell. Behind the scenes, a massive business has been going on for ages, and the spotlight isn't always on what truly matters. Sure, they talk about cultural exchange, but let's be honest—cheap labor is the focus. Human rights violations, and abuses—it's an unfortunate tale we need to uncover. Regulation? Inexistent, with many gaps that are exploited for one reason: money. Don't get me wrong, some folks have a positive experience. But the majority endure hardships that no one should. So, join me as we journey together to reveal the unfiltered truth about the Au pair program, what lies beneath the surface, and the implications that we can't ignore. If you wish to read a little bit about this take a look at this article named "They Think We are Slaves" by Zack Kopplin an investigative journalist he wrote about some of the things I'll mention and it also has some of the girls' testimonies the link is at the bottom and also in the bio of my social media. If you are an Au pair who wishes to share her experience, or you are thinking about becoming an Au pair and have some questions, please email me at Passengertodriver@gmail.com or follow me on my social media IG @__nainai_ and Twitter @__NairobyR_ or if you just listened to this episode and have any comments or questions I would love to hear it, everything is welcome. Let's dive into it!"
