The Son of God, is never surprised by the experiences in our lives, whether joyous or difficult. He is fully aware of us and holds us completely in the palm of His hand. Through the stories of Jesus's childhood—fleeing to Egypt, surviving Herod’s slaughter, and settling in Nazareth—Matthew shows the extent of God’s provision and care.

Psalm 90 stands as a reminder of God’s faithfulness to His people throughout all generations. Here we are urged to number our days, to seek His face that we may gain a heart of wisdom. And we are encouraged as we realize the ways that God’s favour rests on us.

God’s call is not a vague mystery but a gracious summons. He equips each of us by His Word and Spirit. He empowers us through Christ. And He sends us into the world to share the gospel according to His purposes.

We all live between mountaintop moments and struggles in the valley, where we are confronted with doubt, suffering and evil. But only Jesus can sustain us in those valleys. Our walk in Him is not about relying on our own strength, holiness or sufficiency, but about having total dependence, honest confession of our doubts, and a prayerful reliance on God.

Proverbs 4 teaches us that wisdom is acquired through a process of apprenticeship to God, which involves receiving instruction, following a path of daily disciplines, guarding one's heart, and cultivating a relationship with Jesus.

Despite our human tendency to hide our true selves from being fully known by a holy God, Psalm 139 teaches us that this God knows us completely and loves us fully and unconditionally. This divine acceptance, which is demonstrated through Jesus Christ, offers us a profound sense of comfort and freedom.

What do you do when your sin is exposed? Hide? Defend? Blame? David tried all of these, until God shattered his self-deception through the prophet Nathan.
