Oloture: A conversation about Human Trafficking and Decriminalizing Prostitution
On this episode Yoko, Ibitein and I react to Oloture, a movie about a journalist who went undercover as a prostitute with the goal to expose Human Trafficking. In this story we get some insights on the average lives of Nigerian female prostitutes and the dangers they’re exposed to and why they choose to migrate to Europe illegally with all the risks involved. We discussed the movie and made our case for decriminalizing prostitution as a means to reduce and potentially eradicate human trafficking. Side note: the internet tried to sabotage my audio. The network wasn’t great when we recorded so bare with the little overlap in the audio. I think you’ll get the gist though. Enjoy 💋

Black is King: A conversation about the black race.
In this episode of Gene out the Bottle I linked up with Afoma, Diana and Toyin J. We reacted to Beyoncé’s visual Album “Black is King 👑 “ and we shared some opinions about our race, black privilege and racism. The underlying message is simple. Black people you are Kings and Queens and your heritage and culture is rich, diverse, beautiful, good and blessed. There are a ton of untold stories, the history for a lot of us is bittersweet, but the good news is that the lies you were taught, the world you were brought up in, your generation to come may never comprehend. The change our ancestors fought for is here and we’re reclaiming our time. ✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿
