The Game Awards have now come and gone, and many of you know by now that we here at GEG have an opinion or two at times and will need to discuss, debate and distract each other with what we believe is the game of the year. Do we agree with this year's nominees? Do we agree with the chosen winner? Only one way to find out, Good Enough Style. We have once again made a bracket where we will have games face off against each other in the chance for supremacy. Because we just think we do it better here! So join us in our year end debauchery in this two part episodic journey for Good Enough Gamings 2025’s game of the year.
Well gamers, it has been quite some time since we all got over the death of our horse in one of the pods most beloved playstation games in the Ghost of Tsushima, and well, I think we are ready to be hurt again. That's right, the next installation of the gripping story based, sophisticated combat system, and visually stunning masterpiece of a series has come out in the form of Ghost of Yotei. So saddle up listeners, join us on our journey, as we unsheath our opinions and give our initial thoughts and opinion on the one of the biggest titles to drop in the last quarter of 2025.
The saying goes, “you either die a hero or live long enough to become the villain”. This has now been made true for one of the most prestigious groups of medieval lore. Imagine being an apparition blessed by deities of old. Tasked with taking down none other than King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. Now corrupted by some bad wine or something, Arthur has become unhinged and it's now up to you to take down the corrupted knights and set Camelot back on the virtuous path, no pressure or anything. With several classes, Lancelots of weapon choices and skills to acquire, experience to Gawain, and a incredibly fast rat that has made this fight Percival, this game has far more to offer than expected. So join us at our roundish table as we break down our experience with Sworn and other roguelike games!
Do you want to explore, loot, pillage and kill your way in an open world game with a bunch of crazy yet memorable cast of characters?! Well let the hilarious chaos ensue in the latest rendition of Borderlands, a beloved franchise for most of us here at GEG. So lets see if you got the Moxxi to enter the vaults, if you will go in-Zane trying to level up and get the gear you want, if you are Vex-ed by certain enemies/bosses or if you have the skills to be a Callis leader of your friend group and carry everyone through! We are going to give our two cents on Borderlands 4 and talk about how bad Kyle is at it. Come Minions! Its time!
It's never been a better time to be a tamer, trainer, enthusiast or a fan of some beloved animated series of old. This fall we were graced by two new titles from revered franchises that are synonymous with the suffix “-mon”. That’s right we will be discussing the neverending battle for Mon supremacy between Pokemon and Digimon. Specifically the new titles; Pokemon Legends: Z-A and Digimon Story: Time Stranger. So whether you like a plump dragon that gets wings on its head or a cat that evolves into a Victoria’s Secret Angel, there is a game for you to enjoy. So this b-Ekans the real question: who is the Best Mon? This is sure to cause some Augu-ments, so Shuckle in and be prepared for some Ghastly ideas and statements. The Good Enough Geng-ar very excited about this episode and the opportunity to Gab-with-you-mon!
We wanted to end off the season on a positive note this year! We want to celebrate the greats, and not just a particular game you have heard us talk about in ad nauseum over the seasons. No, we are talking about the developers that have taken the gaming world by storm in their respective decades releasing a consistent streak of bangers that we all hold dear. Of course we will likely rabbit trail and shit on a few of these companies that have “lost their way” so to speak, but let's be honest, you all knew that would happen. We are just Good Enough after all! So thanks for joining us for yet another season with the crew at Good Enough Gaming! Indulge with us on our season finale and lets see what this episode develops into.
Summer is coming to an end, fall is on the horizon, and that means the end of “go touch grass” season as well (especially for us Canadians). So what games are coming exactly that we are most looking forward to playing in the fall and early winter you ask? Well we are going to answer that very question today on the podcast! So get the kettle on, pull out the pumpkin spice, make sure the fireplace works and get cozy with us as we break down what we have on the docket to play! Oh, and make sure you let us know what you are looking forward to as well!
Imagine you're in a world with constant looming danger, and you and some fellow townsfolk band together and try to combat the wilds, monsters, undead and more! Got your attention yet? Now imagine you and your party only have a limited time to liberate your fellow people, and right the course of history before it is too late! The stakes are high, the mechanics are strategic, the world is tiled, and the characters / monsters are both endearing and comical! So if you have ever fought off a big Boner before, man will this game feel like home to you! Alright so, listen up Busker, get the Friar going, dip in the potatoes and chickens raised by the local Farmers, and indulge in the breakdown of today's game with your favorite group of Scholars and Strategists here at Good Enough Gaming. Believe it or not this week we are here to talk to you about performance enhancements, but not steroids or the emails that Kyle gets about well, you know… We are talking about the importance of mental health, healthy practices and exercises that can help us all to be better gamers, and productive members of society. So in order to better understand the importance and implementation of these practices, help us in welcoming our awesome guest this week who is the Founder & Creator of Performance Mindset Mindfulness for Lotus 8 Esports, Steven! Let's get mental!!
Some games get it right the first try, some learn some lessons, take the feedback and crush it in the next rendition. These are just the type of games we are looking at today, whether it is the second, third, fourth or hell, even the fifth in a series of games. We want to talk about Sequels! We want to show some love to the follow-ups that were better than the original, you know like the second sibling where all the mistakes the first time around are corrected and not made again, so everything turns out that much better! This group certainly gets it! Now, before any of you freak out on us for leaving anything out, we are only going to be discussing the games we have actually played, so if we missed anything be sure to let us know on Discord!
Disney has continued to pump out Marvel content through movies and shows, and much like a fire sale at a local retailer, everyone has come to see what all the rage is only to see that some of the best items are selling like crazy and some of the items were not quite as they appeared in the photos. We are here today to give you our good enough scaling of where we think everything in Phase 5 sits on our custom tiering scale, that we believe really encompasses a fair, equitable and professional scoring system for the material being reviewed. So take on this Brave New World with us, enjoy the Marvels, avoid the blunders, and if you have already digested it all maybe our opinions will Echo yours. Only one way to find out.

This is going to be a turbulent episode with many stops so relieve ourselves of our opinions and stories.

Tomorrow marks the official release (in Canada) for the Nintendo Switch 2. So much has been discussed and brought up online already about the Switch 2, from the processing and visual capabilities as well as the pricing and games that will be available once it hits the market. We here at Good Enough Gaming have waited long enough to give our take on the newest Nintendo system and all of the plans for this system moving forward. Is this going to be revolutionary as many of Nintendo's systems in the past, or is this the start of a dark chapter and perhaps the demise of ownership and progress for gamers? Don't hold your Breath in this Wild time, we are going to get right into it today! Let'sa go!
As a game developer, you want the audience and player to embrace, celebrate, empathize, relate and fall in love with your main character(s), this helps build a story, a franchise and sometimes a cult following. Some characters have taken all of us by storm, been globally received, and immortalized. Unfortunately.. Some of these characters have fallen flat and would be better off wiped from our memories completely. We will discuss some of the greats and some of the absolute dumpster fire creations that developers have put forward. Let us know if we missed any along the way!
It's time to take a dive into the developmental landscape and release structure of games you guys! There has been a rise in both releasing games as a beta, giving gamers a chance to dive into a game before it is completed, as well as games that have been delayed months or multiple times due to a multitude of factors, but coming out as a completed project. So what is better? Does it depend on the game or the genre? Does it matter if the game is great? What are the consequences if it is terrible? These are the important questions we at Good Enough Gaming have and will discuss today. So crack a cold one, because it's about to get heated with this conversation!
