In Matthew 2:13–23, we see the contrast between Joseph’s faithful obedience and Herod’s fearful need for control. Through Matthew’s fulfilment themes, Jesus is revealed as the true Messiah, bringing a New Exodus, ending exile, and coming for the lost. Sometimes the hardest truths in Scripture come disguised in the simplest words. James 4:13–17 is one of those passages—it’s short, practical, and deeply personal. The message begins at: 11:25 It’s about how we plan, dream, and make decisions. And James asks us to consider whether our plans are built around our will or God’s. This message explores what happens when we live by “my will”—and the freedom and purpose that come when we live by “Thy will.” It’s both a warning and an invitation: to shift from self-determination to divine partnership. We need biblical humility in knowing who we are in Jesus, beloved forgiven children of God and flawed people. It is from this posture that we can engage with different opinions.
