McLaren has put out a statement following his team’s double disqualification from the Las Vegas Grand Prix. The team was stripped of all 30 points earned on Saturday night after excessive plank wear was found on both cars.
Lance Stroll has hit back at Franco Colapinto, urging the Argentinian to focus on scoring a single point before having a go at other drivers. Williams driver and GPDA president Carlos Sainz Junior has dubbed Oscar Piastri’s Sao Paulo Grand Prix penalty unacceptable, and believes the drivers’ guidelines should be revised instantly. Piastri was given a race-ruining 10-second time penalty for a collision with Kimi Antonelli at an early safety car restart at Interlagos.
The final stretch of the season has arrived and although Lando Norris holds a comfortable lead, Oscar Piastri will do everything he can to claim the world title. The duo still have to take a possible engine change into account, something McLaren team boss Andrea Stella has hinted at several times.
