Global Warming Suggests Inexistence Of Aliens

The great filter theory posits that possibly there is something preventing life from existing that wipes off intelligent life. We used to postulate that this was Nuclear Warheads, but the truth might be simpler and much commoner and much much scarier than that.

Global Warming.

5 Centimetres Per Second: A Case Study in defense of Morose Artworks
I love Makato Shinkai. But like every person who ever saw 5 centimetres per second, I hated him when the movie ended because of its morose and depressing theme. The shock of such a realistically sad film from such an unexpected source has probably made many hate the film. This podcast is in contrast in support of this great film. I believe that the film is an excellent example of how films should be. Here is my attempt to defend morose artworks through the example of 5 Centimetres per Second.

Ep. 016: The Amazing History of The Michelin Star and it's FABULOUS Economics backfrop
Stories fascinate me. Specially the stories of origin and their trails into the present. I love stories that are lost and I love to share them in hopes of keeping them alive. Drawing a clear line from Gordon Ramsay to aristocrasy in France in 1900s... this is the story of the Michelin Stars and the tyre company behind them.

Ep. 014: Why do we get creeped out? With Roco's basalisk as an example
Disclaimer: If you aren't able to handle existential crisis, don't listen to the podcast entirely. I warn more in detail in the podcast. Why do we get that terrible creepy feeling in our chests? Why do we feel that uncomfortable, cold fear just by hearing the PS2 disk not working sound? Why do we get scared by the ambiguous fear of tales of girls killing people 7 days later? Yeah, that's a Ring reference. What separates them from rational fears? Listen to the podcast to know more.

Ep. 011: Why Do We Laugh At The Unfunny? Because Psychology!
Every single time you see the tele, chances are you're listening to a laugh track recorded in the 1960s. Laugh tracks are criminally overused and are a way to get away with lazy writing, we all know that. But why do they work?

Ep. 010: In the beginning, God was flawed. And it was good.
Disclaimer: if you are religious and you feel your religious sentiments might be hurt, please don't listen to this podcast. The earliest religions on the planet have flawed Gods. All of them. And believe me, them being flawed is very very good. Listen to know more.

Ep 008: Shojin Ryori: Meditation through Cooking!
Every single time that I cook, I quote The Hairy Bikers Asian adventure on Shojin Ryori. Meditation, what many people believe to be their key to escape the eternal suffering of reincarnation and their hall pass to enlightenment, has a bad image. People think meditation and enlightenment means to give up on the carnal desires and to be plain ol Jane. To eat simple... But the Japanese philosophy of Shojin Ryori is here to change our perception.
