As we enter into the Advent season, we look back to the Davidic Covenant where a son is promised whose throne will be established forever.

Remembering that Peter has been ecouraging Christians that find themselves in vulnerable situations, he speaks to husbands and wives, encouraging them to live in an orderly way, honoring one another as fellow heirs of the grace of life.

Dr. Todd Miles repeats to us Peter's encouragment to elect exiles, to place our trust in God as we live faithfully under this world's authorities.

Peter continues his letter of encouragement to displaced and troubled Christians, reminding them that scripture spoke long ago of what has come to pass,. Though men have rejected God's chosen foundation, He continues to build His house.

Dr. Todd Miles brings a message from 1 Peter 1, where the apostle calls believers to holiness in light of the future hope secured by the costly blood of Christ.

Setting aside our series through the book of Mark for a time, after having just heard Peter's confession, we turn to 1 Peter where the apostle encourages a group of "elect exiles" who are suffering various trials. He reminds them that God has not been caught off guard, he is still in control, and we can take hold of His solid promises when our right now feels uncertain.

After a two-part healing of a blind man where he begins to see but then sees more clearly, Jesus asks the disciples who people say he is and who they believe him to be. At this point, they can make out that he is the Christ, but they need to see him even more cleary.

With all that has already taken place in the book of Mark, the Pharisees come asking for "a sign from heaven", and the disicples, after watching Jesus feed thousands—twice—are still worried that they didn't bring enough bread. Do we have faith greater than these?

As we meet outdoors for GBC Day 2025, Dr. Todd Miles brings a message from Mark 8 where Jesus again miraculously feeds a multitude.
