December is meaningful, and leaders often feel its fullness in a unique way. In this episode, Sheila explains what she calls the December drift, the natural pull leaders experience when year-end reports, giving campaigns, team celebrations, family traditions, and the weight of the season all converge at once. She shares why this drift makes complete sense and how it shows up even for high-capacity leaders.
This episode reminds you that you are already leading in a meaningful season. You do not need to overhaul December. A few intentional choices can help you focus on what matters most and finish the year with purpose and peace.
Episode Highlights:
00:00 Why December feels uniquely full for leaders02:05 What the December drift is and why it makes sense04:22 How to identify what needs your leadership this month and what can be deferred07:10 Practical ways to create intentional leadership moments in December12:20 How presence creates impact despite the drift

Coming Next Week
Next week, Sheila will teach you how to craft your message in a way that resonates—even when it feels like no one is listening. You'll learn practical frameworks and faith-based encouragement to help your voice break through the noise and reach those God has called you to serve.
In this vulnerable episode, I share the foundational element every leader needs before experiencing lasting success in their God-given calling. I explore the critical difference between mindset and belief, revealing why your deep conviction about your purpose is the essential anchor that will sustain you through both obstacles and opportunities. As someone who has personally navigated challenging seasons of doubt and distraction, I share personal insights about how the enemy attempts to derail our leadership through attacks on vision, voice, and vitality. If you've been feeling unclear about your direction, questioning your calling, or struggling with leadership fatigue, this episode offers the spiritual perspective and practical guidance to help you anchor your leadership in unshakable belief.
Key Takeaways & Action Steps
Understand the Difference Between Mindset and Belief
Recognize that while positive mindset is helpful, it fades quickly under pressure
Develop a deep-rooted conviction about your calling that can withstand obstacles
Anchor your leadership in your relationship with Christ first, then your purpose
Identify the Enemy's Tactics Against Your Leadership
Vision: Recognize when your clarity becomes distorted or weakened
Voice: Notice when you begin to question your message or lose courage to speak
Vitality: Address when your energy and passion for your calling diminishes
Value: Guard against attacks on your worth and virtue as a leader
Transform Crisis into Catalyst
Choose whether challenges will become an identity crisis or an identity catalyst
Use seasons of questioning to deepen your conviction, not derail your calling
Anchor to your "why" when the "how" becomes difficult or unclear
Putting Faith Into Action
Take time this week to write down your core values and beliefs about your Creator
Reflect on why God created you with your unique gifts and purpose
Consider what "walking worthy of well done" looks like in your specific calling
Use your belief as both an anchor (stability) and compass (direction) for decisions

Focus on These Four Solution Areas
Clarity: Get crystal clear on your vision and calling
Strategy: Create a doable action plan with right priorities
Visibility: Build bridges between you and those you're called to serve
Community: Connect with supporters and those you serve (the key to opportunity)

How do you show up with wisdom as a leader, knowing just what to do and how to do it? That's we're going to talk about today.
As a young leader, I just wanted a rule book, to tell me what should do and not do in all of the various situations I faced. But I've since learned that you're dealing with unique people every situation and solution is also unique. There is no one-way of leadership...and that's where savvy steps in!
Take Action:
You can ask Holy Spirit for guidance --there's one with greater wisdom that can show you a better way. I encouraging you to take some time today, ask the Lord to show you how you can serve Him by serving his people in a better, deeper way. Tenacity: 3rd of the 5 ACTS of Gutsy Grace Leadership™
In this episode, I'm going to reveal the secret sauce no one told you about that is going to be absolutely necessary for you to be an effective leader for years and years to come: Tenacity! We're also going to uncover the 3 temptations that will kill your leadership tenacity (and how to resist them!)
It's often said that leadership is a marathon. I don't think it's a marathon. I've heard other people say that it's a sprint. I think it includes sprints, but I don't think it's a sprint. I believe that leadership is a marathon of sprints. The pace may change, but you still stay steady and moving forward as a leader all. of. the. time!
