🎧 The Childhood Ingredient We Are Taking Away From Our Kids
In this episode, Dr. Amrita Basu reflects on a quiet but powerful truth about modern childhood—something essential that many children today are slowly losing. Through personal observations and insights as a doctor and parent, she explores how reduced outdoor play, increased screen time, and disconnection from nature are shaping childhood development, emotional wellbeing, and mental health.
This conversation invites parents, caregivers, and educators to pause and rethink what children truly need to grow into healthy, resilient adults. From the importance of nature-based learning to simple everyday practices that support holistic child development, this episode offers thoughtful guidance rooted in lived experience rather than fear or guilt.
🌿 In this episode, we discuss:
• What children are missing in modern childhood
• Why kids need nature for emotional and cognitive growth
• Screen time vs outdoor play and its impact on child mental health
• Mindful and holistic parenting approaches
• Small changes parents can make to support childhood wellbeing
Whether you’re navigating parenting in a digital age or simply care about the future of children, this episode offers a gentle but important reminder of what truly matters.

When I initially thought of doing this podvast, I wasn’t sure how much I should say. Should I talk about the not so good and painful parts? Or should I just focus on the beauty of giving birth which is akin to a miracle? That's the one time you feel like a superwoman.
It's Thanksgiving week and I thought of giving thanks to my doctor who made my pregnancy a breeze.

Podcasting: India vs International
New Blog post
https://healthwealthbridge.com/podcasting-india-vs-international/
This is a #AI research post about Podcasting in India and internationally.I started podcasting in 2018 ,when it wasn't even a thing.I even wrote a short guide for novice podcasters to get started without overwhelm. That was then. Now its a different story.
Podcasting in India doesn't follow the usual international trends .Many topics podcasters make news style or interview style podcasts with bollywood stars/influencers,star health coaches ,sports stars ...you get the drift?
News podcasting or real information is hard to get from the oohs and aahs of social media adoration. In the drama of looking intense and trending many fall of the bandwagon. The poster child of that podcasting drama was " beer biceps who had a good thing going but turned out to be shallower than a tea spoon if water. He wanted to be cool while being intensely privileged or may be he had bad PR people.Theres a thing called editing and some people don't understand they have a good thing.

Autobiography of a Tree:A Living Witness (Episode145)
A few days back I received an unexpected gift.It was given to me by my daughter and it was an essay she wrote for a CBSE project.
I never realized the effect on kids when they see their parents become tree lovers. Its like creating budding plant warriors who understand not only the science ,but the soul behind spending time in nature.
As a family we spend weekends playing outdoor .Rain, sun or cold we have a walk amongst green trees and flowers and recharge our soul.I always wondered why people didn't spend more time on technology to make spaces green while innovating.Maybe that's something I need to start trying too.
But if I can't do it ,I hope all the kids who love plants and trees, find a way back to nature's lap .
That's why when I read my daughters essay about a Living Witness, I knew I had to publish it on the blog after the project submission ,so that parents may realize that walking the talk is way more important that talking !

It started in 2020.But the seeds were planted in my childhood. I had a school project, where we had to take care of a small flowering plant, over a few months and bring it to school,as the project submission.
It was winter and I bought a pansy plant.I coloured the pot ,talked to the plant and it flowered. It was a yellow brown pansy flower with their cute butterfly shaped flower. What I didn't know was that the hollow stems of pansy plants, made them sensitive to even little birds hopping on them.A sparrow hopped on the flowers and my pretty plant had fractured stems.

Under the Influence by Malini Agarwal:Is it Worth Being A Good Girl on Social Media?
Under the influence by Malini Agarwal is about the influence of digital media and whether being good online is even a thing!
The tagline "How to Survive and Thrive Online and a quote by Kusha Kapila on the book cover, aptly sums up the book by saying, "the one who knew influence before influencers were a thing."
That's true because I read the first book by Miss Malini when I started blogging .She has really worked hard at building the business she has built.

World Earth Day is today that is April 22nd and over the years I have tried to do my part with planting trees and since 2021 its now more than 200 trees that I have planted in different plots of land plus the balcony gardening continues as a side project .I also try to visit resorts and locations who believe in staying close to nature and not disturbing the ecological balance .
Development is crucial .But if we can land on the moon and visit myriad other places in the galaxy ,then keeping the earth clean and green shouldnt be difficult .Listen to the podcast to know about Project Nature that our family is supporting since 2021.
