Scandinavian Bob who runs the Dopamine Focused Warriors YouTube channel seems like a nice, direct guy who wants to help people.
No doubt there will be many who feel supported by him and that is great.
We are also confident his videos are created with the purpose of helping others.
However, the problem is that the content created uses information from other sources which are also ineffective for actually overcoming porn addiction.
Sources such as Dopamine Nation and Your Brain on Porn are cited. And as we have explained in other videos, such books are filled with helpless, disempowering language and provide no real solution.
These are the kinds of books that regurgitated the same information and kept me (Tom) stuck in a porn addiction for 10 years.
Now that I am out of that mess, I want to share with the world what doesn’t work and provide those who wish for serious change an alternative solution.
A solution built with Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy at its foundations. If you feel like you keep relapsing, even after learning more and more about porn addiction, we are here to share that it’s not your fault.
There is nothing wrong with you. You just haven’t been taught how to stop yet!

In this episode, we dive deep into the difference between avoiding compulsive desires and learning how to directly deal with them.
NoFap, self-improvement, and streaks often focus on behavior — but real transformation comes from building a consistent, repeatable skill: dealing with desire itself.
We talk about how to:
Stop relying on streaks as your measure of progress
Develop the inner skill of thinking through urges instead of fighting them
Create a non-changing, repeatable approach to working with compulsive desires
Understand why this practice is separate from “self-improvement” or external motivation

“Slipping up” when trying to stop watching porn has become the normalised language that people use.
I know because I used to minimise and fail to take responsibility by calling my choices to engage a “slip up” in the past too.
This kind of language needs to be called out if we are to have any chance of empowering people to take back control from the addicted part of their mind.

A lot of people have the misconception that they can overcome porn addiction through self-improvement. Dylan McKnight’s porn addiction is a great example of how this approach can go wrong.
We share some examples of what sort of thing the addicted part of the mind will say when someone is struggling with porn addiction.

People think that going on a long streak is success… but is this true?
Well, do you actually feel in control of yourself?
Do you completely trust yourself?
Have you truly changed the way you think so that you feel empowered and can make rational choices, with regards to porn use, 100% of the time?
Are you able to talk openly about this problem as if it were a thing of the past?
Whilst doing NoFap is of course very different to having a Duolingo streak, I hope this video can illustrate my point of how ineffective NoFap streaks really are in changing the way we think and therefore feel.
Channel 4 recently shared a documentary on YouTube about Findom.
