Is Setting New Years Goals, Biblical?

Welcome to Be Bold for Jesus!

Our mission is to help you walk boldly in your faith and follow Jesus with confidence. Led by Lee and Jaclyn Arnold, we teach the Bible in a way that transforms your heart and equips you to live out God’s truth every day.

In today’s message:

“Is Setting New Year’s Goals, Biblical?”

As we approach a new year, we explore what Scripture really says about planning, goal setting, and purpose. From Genesis to the New Testament, the Bible reveals that God is not against planning—He is against prideful, self-directed planning. Biblical goal setting is stewardship under surrender.

Through the lives of Joseph, Moses, Nehemiah, Jesus, Paul, and James, we see that God calls His people to plan wisely, work diligently, delegate humbly, and trust Him completely with the outcome.

This message reveals key truths:

God is a planner by nature, and we are made in His image.

Planning is biblical when it is submitted to the Lord.

Prayer and planning are meant to work together.

Delegation prevents burnout and multiplies impact.

God establishes our steps, even when He redirects our plans.

The reminder for us today:

“Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.” — Proverbs 16:3

“In their hearts humans plan their course, but the LORD establishes their steps.” — Proverbs 16:9

“If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.” — James 4:15

As we step into 2026, we are encouraged not to chase worldly resolutions, but to seek first the Kingdom of God—writing our plans in pencil, holding them with open hands, and trusting the Lord to lead every step.

If God is calling you to plan, grow, and move forward—do so in humility, obedience, and faith. When Jesus leads the plan, our goals don’t just change us—they advance the Kingdom.

“The Christmas Journey” Finding Jesus on Every Page

Welcome to Be Bold for Jesus!

Our mission is to help you walk boldly in your faith and follow Jesus with confidence. Led by Lee and Jaclyn Arnold, we teach the Bible in a way that transforms your heart and helps you see Jesus revealed throughout all of Scripture.

In today’s message:

“The Christmas Journey: Finding Jesus on Every Page”

We explore how the story of Christmas is woven throughout the Bible—not just in the Gospels, but even in passages that challenge us.

In Jeremiah 27, God speaks through the prophet Jeremiah, calling Judah and the surrounding nations to submit to the yoke He has appointed. Though the message was difficult, unpopular, and even dangerous, Jeremiah remained faithful and obedient.

This chapter reminds us that long before Jesus was born in Bethlehem, God was directing history toward redemption.

This chapter reveals a powerful truth:

God’s sovereignty extends over all nations, leaders, and circumstances.

God often calls His people to trust Him in seasons that feel uncomfortable or unclear.

Resisting God’s will leads to loss, while surrender prepares the way for peace, protection, and life.

False prophets may promise ease or quick relief, but God’s truth always requires trust and obedience.

The reminder for us today:

“I have made the earth, the people and the animals that are on the ground, by my great power and outstretched arm; and I give it to whom it seems right to me.” — Jeremiah 27:6

“Take My yoke upon you… and you will find rest for your souls.” — Matthew 11:29

From Jeremiah to Jesus, God’s message is consistent: surrender brings freedom. The Christmas journey leads us to Christ, where obedience is met with grace and rest.

If God is asking you to trust Him and take on His yoke, don’t resist. In Jesus, surrender leads to peace, freedom, and protection.

The Yoke of Babylon, God’s Yoke for Us

Welcome to Be Bold for Jesus!

Our mission is to help you walk boldly in your faith and follow Jesus with confidence. Led by Lee and Jaclyn Arnold, we teach the Bible in a way that transforms your heart and equips you to live out God’s truth every day.

In today’s message:

We dive into Jeremiah 27, where Jeremiah delivers God’s warning to Judah and the surrounding nations: submit to Babylon’s yoke or face destruction. Even when the message was unpopular and dangerous, Jeremiah stood firm.

This chapter reveals a powerful truth:

God’s sovereignty extends over all nations, leaders, and circumstances.

Sometimes God’s will asks us to submit—even to seasons or authorities we don’t like.

Resisting His will leads to loss, while obedience brings protection, peace, and life.

False prophets may promise comfort or shortcuts, but truth always requires trust.

If God is asking you to wear His yoke, don’t resist. Surrender brings freedom, peace, and protection.

Jeremiah Threatened with Death

Welcome to Be Bold for Jesus!

Our mission is to help you walk boldly in your faith and follow Jesus with confidence. Led by Lee and Jaclyn Arnold, we teach the Bible in a way that transforms your heart and equips you to live out God’s truth every single day.

In today’s message:

We study Jeremiah 26, where Jeremiah boldly declares God’s truth in the temple—and is immediately threatened with death.

This chapter reveals a powerful truth:

God’s warnings are acts of mercy.

He speaks to our hearts—not to shame us, but to save us.

Jeremiah stood firm, refusing to change God’s message even when his life was on the line. His courage calls us to listen, respond, and walk in obedience before consequences arrive.

The reminder still stands today:

“Perhaps they will listen… then I will relent.” — Jeremiah 26:3

“Now is the day of salvation.” — 2 Corinthians 6:2

If God is speaking to you, don’t silence His voice. Respond today.

When Leaders Lie and People Love It

Sermon Recap

Title: When Leaders Lie and People Love It

Scripture: Jeremiah 23:1–40

Speaker: Lee Arnold

This week, we looked at how God calls out leaders who use their power for selfish reasons and lead people away from the truth. In Jeremiah 23, God warns that He will hold these leaders accountable, but He also promises hope—a future King who will rule with justice and righteousness: Jesus Christ.

Lee reminded us that true leadership means speaking truth, not just what people want to hear. God’s Word is like wheat—it gives life and strength—while false teaching is like chaff that blows away.

Key Takeaways:

God sees and knows everything.

Leaders are responsible for those they guide.

Truth must never be replaced by comfort.

Jesus is the only righteous and faithful King.

Let’s stay grounded in God’s Word, lead with integrity, and keep the light of truth shining.

Judgements Against Evil Kings

Sermon Recap | “Judgments Against Evil Kings” (Jeremiah 22:1–30)

Lee Arnold Live | Sunday, October 19, 2025

Jeremiah 22 opens with a direct message from God to Judah’s leaders: “Do what is just and right.” Rescue the oppressed, protect the vulnerable, and stop the shedding of innocent blood. Yet Judah’s kings ignored the warning. They built palaces with unpaid labor, filled their lives with comfort and pride, and forsook the covenant that once blessed them.

God exposed their corruption and reminded them that leadership without righteousness is rebellion. From Shallum to Jehoiakim to Coniah, every king who turned from truth faced downfall. The pattern was clear—disobedience destroys nations and individuals alike.

Key Points:

God requires justice and mercy. (Jer. 22:3; Micah 6:8)

Doing right isn’t about knowing truth—it’s about living it.

We can’t inherit faith. Each person must have their own relationship with God. (Jer. 22:15–16)

Prosperity without obedience leads to pride. Comfort often replaces conviction if we’re not careful. (Jer. 22:21)

God’s word always comes true. Every prophecy of judgment was fulfilled exactly as spoken. (Jer. 22:24–30)

Power reveals character. Leadership—whether in home, business, or ministry—must reflect God’s heart for justice and compassion.

Application:

If God walked the halls of your home or workplace today, would He find righteousness and mercy “at the gate”? God calls us to lead with integrity—to make things right, defend the weak, and live out our faith through action. Stop building cedar-paneled lives on compromise. Say yes to God’s prompting today—His plan is always the best plan.

Verse to Remember:

“Do what is just and right. Rescue from the hand of the oppressor the one who has been robbed.”

— Jeremiah 22:3

God isn’t looking for perfect leaders—He’s looking for surrendered ones. Let’s lead with humility, serve with love, and live boldly for Jesus.

Jerusalem’s Doom is Sealed

Sermon Recap | “Jerusalem’s Doom Is Sealed” (Jeremiah 21:1–14)

King Zedekiah faced the Babylonian army and cried out to God for rescue—but without repentance. He wanted God’s help without surrendering to His authority. Through Jeremiah, God declared that judgment was coming, not because of Babylon’s strength, but because of Judah’s hardened heart.

Still, God’s mercy remained:

“I set before you the way of life and the way of death.”

Key Points:

When God is against us, no one can stand for us (Jeremiah 21:5).

God’s discipline flows from His love; His correction is meant to restore, not destroy.

Surrender is the only path to life. The people had to yield to Babylon; we must yield to Christ.

God desires relationship, not rescue-on-demand. He wants repentance, not just relief.

Each day we face the same choice: resist or repent, rebel or return.

Jerusalem’s doom was sealed because her heart was sealed. Ours doesn’t have to be.

Let’s trade stubbornness for surrender, panic for obedience, and fear for faith.

If God is for us, who can be against us? (Romans 8:31)

Broken, But Not Beyond Repair

Sermon Recap – “Broken, But Not Beyond Repair”

Lee Arnold Live – Jeremiah 19:1–15

Sunday, September 21, 2025

Key Points:

In Jeremiah 19, God told Jeremiah to go to the Valley of Ben-Hinnom with a clay jar. This valley was a place of child sacrifice and became a symbol of judgment.

Jeremiah smashed the jar to show that Judah had become hardened beyond repair. Clay can be reshaped, but once hardened, it can only be broken.

Judah’s sins—forsaking God, idol worship, and shedding innocent blood—brought certain judgment.

Today, we must see the parallels. Just as Judah sacrificed children, our world sacrifices millions of unborn lives each year. God still grieves over innocent blood.

When attacked or treated unfairly, we must let God defend us. “The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still” (Exodus 14:14).

Application: As long as we remain soft in the Potter’s hands, God can reshape and restore us. But if we harden our hearts, we risk judgment. The call is to remain pliable and surrendered to Him.

At the Potter's House

Jeremiah 18:1–23

Lee Arnold – September 14, 2025

Today we looked at Jeremiah 18, where God takes the prophet to a potter’s house. There Jeremiah saw three things: the Potter (God), the wheel (the circumstances of life), and the clay (us).

Here’s what we learned:

God is the Potter. He knows what He’s doing and has a plan for your life.

We are the clay. By ourselves we’re ordinary, but in His hands we can be made into something beautiful and useful.

The wheel is life. Sometimes it feels like we’re just going in circles, but God is using every turn to shape us.

When we’re broken, He can reshape us. God never throws away cracked vessels—He remakes them.

The challenge is this: clay must be soft to be shaped. If we’re stubborn and resist God, we miss His best. But if we yield, He will form us into a vessel that brings Him glory.

The good news is this: the Potter’s hands are scarred. Jesus paid the price for our brokenness. By His blood, even what seems ruined can be restored.

Takeaway: You are not too far gone. Trust the Potter. Yield to His hands. Let Him reshape your life for His purpose.

Suit Up

We are not living in neutral times—we are living in a war zone. Culture is confused, truth is attacked, evil is celebrated, and the enemy is working overtime to distract and divide. But Scripture makes it clear: this isn’t a battle against flesh and blood—it’s a spiritual war.

In Ephesians 6, Paul calls us to “put on the full armor of God.” This is not a comfort gospel—it’s a combat gospel. The good news? We don’t fight for victory, we fight from victory, because Jesus has already disarmed the enemy at the cross (Colossians 2:15).

Here are the four key truths we walked through:

1. Know the Enemy

The real battle isn’t against people—it’s against the powers of darkness (Eph. 6:12). The enemy’s strategy is distraction, division, and deception. If you don’t know who you’re fighting, you’ll fight the wrong battles.

2. Know Who You Fight For

We don’t fight in our own strength, but in God’s authority. Like David, who faced Goliath “in the name of the Lord of hosts,” we step into battles knowing the Lion has already roared. (Exodus 14:14; Romans 8:31)

3. Gear Up – With Your Armor

You can’t fight with someone else’s armor. Just as David couldn’t wear Saul’s armor, you can’t live off borrowed faith or borrowed obedience. Walk in your own daily discipline, your own salvation, your own prayer life. (Eph. 6:13–17; 1 Sam. 17:38–40)

4. Stand – Don’t Stand By

Israel stood frozen before Goliath for forty days. David stood up and declared: “The battle is the Lord’s” (1 Sam. 17:45–47). Too often we “stand by” while the enemy mocks. God is calling us to stand up, suit up, and speak up in His authority.

Born Legacy

Identity tells you who you are. Surrender sets your direction. Legacy is what you leave behind.

Your legacy isn’t built on performance, but on people. It’s not about what you achieve, but what you reproduce. Obedience in small, hidden moments multiplies into lasting influence. Discipleship is multiplication, not accumulation—passing on what you’ve received so others can follow Jesus too.

Real fruit doesn’t come from striving, but from abiding in Christ. Copies fade over time, but when we stay connected to Jesus, what we pass on remains clear, powerful, and unmistakably Him.

Application:

Do an obedience audit: Where is God asking you to take a step you’ve delayed?

Ask God for two names—people you can invest in this week.

Take one intentional act of love that flows from abiding in Jesus.

Stay rooted daily in Word, prayer, community, and mission.

Legacy begins when you choose to pour into others what Christ has poured into you.

FAITH!

Sermon Recap: The Importance of Faith

Faith is more than just saying “I believe.” It’s trusting God enough to take action. We opened with the story of the tightrope walker who asked a man from the crowd to get into his wheelbarrow. Believing from the sidelines was easy—but true faith meant climbing in.

Hebrews 11 shows us that faith is “confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” Faith is trusting God’s promises even when we can’t see the outcome. Abel, Noah, Abraham, Moses, and Rahab all showed faith by obeying God even when it seemed uncertain or risky.

Faith isn’t wishful thinking—it’s confident trust in God’s Word. It acts, obeys, sacrifices, and endures. Hebrews 12 reminds us to throw off sin, run with perseverance, and fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith.

Challenge: What is your “wheelbarrow moment”? Where is God asking you to trust Him today?
