Countless people today struggle with praying. Perhaps not the actual act, and perhaps not the faith in the request itself, but when there appears to be silence in response. Nothing. As if God doesn't care, or at the very least, isn't listening.
And it may shock you to hear this, but the Bible does tell us that prayers can be delayed. But how?
Today, Jim Barnhart takes us to 1 Peter 3, where we see Peter addressing a possible cause to a prayer that seems to go unheard.
With great spiritual battles ever surrounding this world, Peter helps point us in the direction of ensuring our prayers reach the throne of God directly, and gives us courage in taking the next step in our lives toward this goal.
You are sure to come away from this message with more boldness in your prayer life as we dive into "Hindered Prayers"

We are a Bible-Based, Jesus Only small community church located in rural South-East Minnesota. Our building was originally constructed in 1861 and is the oldest protestant church building in continuous use in our county.
Many people have come and gone throughout the generations, but our goal will always remain: To Serve Jesus only, and learn from His Living Word, the Scriptures.
Our small church body are all admittedly sinners, that openly strive to improve our walk daily, but also understand that we are Redeemed by the shed blood of Christ Jesus and declared innocent in God’s eyes due to Grace Alone!
There is no act of baptism, charity or observation of communion that deems us worthy. No amount of following the law of Moses, or the ever-popular observation of legalism in many churches today that will save us. That is us believing in ourselves, rather than what Christ did for us completely.
If you struggle with understanding the concept of salvation or are plagued by false teachings of following traditions rather than Christ alone, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. We would love to help!

As one year closes and another begins, many of us are left with a familiar question… Now what?
Is this season about making better resolutions, or is God calling us to something far deeper?
In this message, we pause at the turning of the year to examine not just what we want to change, but who we have been becoming. A year is more than dates on a calendar; it is a collection of habits, reactions, priorities, failures, and victories that reveal the true direction of our hearts.
Together, we explore what Scripture says about real transformation. Not surface level self improvement, but a revolution of the heart that only Christ can bring. This is a message about identity, direction, and surrender. About laying down the life we have been building and embracing the life God is forming within us.
As you listen, consider this question:
If someone described you based only on the past year, what would you be known for?
Join us as we wrestle with the weight of “now what” and discover the difference between resolutions that fade and a revolution that lasts.

Tonight, we experience the Christmas story from a different perspective.
We journey back over 2,000 years to the small, quiet town of Bethlehem and meet Eleazer ben Ashur, a humble innkeeper living an ordinary life in an unremarkable place.
But through his eyes, we witness one extraordinary night: an interruption to the ordinary that would change his world, and the world, forever.
Join us as we experience “Christmas from Different Eyes.”

We all know there is division in today’s world. All one needs to do is look at the political climate in America to see it clearly. But how does that affect our calling to fulfill the Great Commission?
Today, Donn takes us into the writings of the Apostle Paul, starting in the book of Philippians, to help us examine what may need to change in our own perspective if we truly want to be used by God.
This message is designed to encourage and challenge those who genuinely seek God, offering insight into how we can grow in the effectiveness of our witness as we explore what it truly means to “Keep Christ in Christmas.”

Joy to the World, the Lord is come! We have heard and often sing these lyrics during the Christmas season, but did you know it has nothing to do with Christmas?!
Today, Gary Froiland returns and we take a look at what is behind this famous song, but also some of the reasons we have to be joyful in this season.
From the beginning of time, until the end of days, Gary shows us some of the many joys we are able to be blessed with, and will leave you today understanding why there is truly "Joy to the World"

Donn returns with a continuation into our look into prayer, and what it really involves.
We all find ourselves praying. Often to God about what is going on in our lives, or for things that we hope He will use His power to alter, but have you ever really understood the tapping of power that our prayer really can achieve? What does it mean to pray in accordance of the Will of God? And what can that do for not just us, but for others in our lives?
Today, we look into some often misunderstood passages to understand this "Prayer that Moves Mountains"

Today we step into one of the most shocking and fascinating chapters in the entire Bible: a testimony written by a brutal pagan king. Nebuchadnezzar was the most powerful man on earth… until God humbled him in a way the world had never seen.
What happened to him?
Why did God bring him so low?
And what does his story reveal about our pride, our lives, and the God who rules over kings and nations?
Daniel 4 isn’t just history, it's a warning; a mirror, and an invitation.
Join us as we explore the rise, fall, and restoration of a man who thought he was unstoppable… until he encountered the Most High. Join us today as we take a look at the testimony of "The Despot"

In today’s message, we walk through one of the hardest questions Christians face with Scripture, honesty, and real hope: Why does a good God allow evil, suffering, and tragedy?
The journey begins with the powerful true story of Horatio Spafford, a man who lost nearly everything and still wrote the hymn It Is Well with My Soul. From there, we turn to Genesis, the fall, and the spiritual realities behind evil. We explore the freedom God gives His creation, the consequences of rebellion, and the redemptive promise that runs through the entire Bible.
Josh reminds us that God is not distant or indifferent. He enters our pain, works through it, and ultimately promises to end evil forever.
This message will encourage you, challenge your assumptions, and help you anchor your faith in the God who will wipe every tear from our eyes as we try to understand "Why Does God Allow Evil"

As we wrap up our walk through the Ten Commandments: today we look at the final two: “Do Not Lie” and “Do Not Covet.”
These aren’t just ancient rules carved into stone: they speak directly into the world we’re living in right now.
Commandment 9 reminds us how serious God is about truth. Scripture draws a sharp line between the God of truth and the father of lies: and our culture is full of examples of how easily people drift from honesty. From subtle deception to bold: repeated falsehoods: we see how lies can spread: harm: mislead: and ultimately destroy. But the Bible cuts through all of it with clarity: God’s Word is truth.
Commandment 10 turns the spotlight toward the heart. Coveting is more than wanting something: it’s a desire that grows into jealousy: discontentment: idolatry: and even sin that impacts our families: finances: and spiritual lives. The Bible warns repeatedly that covetousness is dangerous because it competes with God for our affection. Jesus calls us to treasure what lasts: not what fades.
In this message: we look at real life stories: biblical examples: warnings from Scripture: and the consequences that follow when these commandments are ignored. Most importantly: we’re reminded why God gave these commands in the first place: not to save us: but to show us our need for a Savior.
If you’ve ever struggled with truthfulness: contentment: or the pull of “just a little more:” this message will encourage you: challenge you: and point you back to the only One who can transform the heart.

Today we continue our walk through the Ten Commandments with Commandment #7: “You shall not commit adultery” and Commandment #8: “You shall not steal.”
These two short commandments carry powerful truths that reach deep into the heart of human behavior. We explore how God designed marriage as a sacred covenant, how sexual purity reflects our devotion to Him, and with examples from Scripture that show us how to flee evil.
Not just that, but we also explore the dangers of lust and pornography to the distortion of gender identity in today’s culture, this teaching calls believers to live pure lives and guard their hearts and minds.
Then, we turn to the eighth commandment “Do not steal” and uncover the many hidden ways people steal from others. And we don't just look at robbing others of physical items, but the possibility of robbing God Himself!
Through Scripture, humor, and real-life examples, this lesson reminds us that honesty, purity, and gratitude honor God and reflect His holiness in our daily lives.

During the month of November, we naturally think about thankfulness. But for believers, gratitude shouldn’t just be seasonal, it should be continual!
Psalm 100 is known as a Psalm of Thanksgiving, and it calls us to shout joyfully to the Lord, serve Him with gladness, and come before Him with thanksgiving. But how can we do that when life doesn’t always feel thankful? What does it really mean to worship with thankfulness?
Today, Pastor John Grams helps us take a look at how gratitude isn’t just an emotion: it’s an act of faith. True thanksgiving flows from knowing who God is: our Creator, our Shepherd, and our Savior. Even in difficult seasons, we can thank God not just for what He’s done, but for who He is.
Discover how a heart of thankfulness transforms worship from a moment into a lifestyle: Into thank-living though "Thankful Worship"

Jim Barnhart returns with a powerful message from 1 Peter 2:4–10, reminding us that Jesus is the Chief Cornerstone.
But what does that really mean? To truly understand, we look back at the ancient construction practice of laying a cornerstone: the very first and most important stone that determined the stability and alignment of the entire structure.
In the same way, Jesus is our foundation — strong, unshakable, and precious to all who believe.
Join Jim as he shows us how this truth transforms our understanding of faith, stability, our identity in Christ, and reminding us that "To You, He is Precious"

Gary returns to continue his in-depth teaching series on The Ten Commandments!
This week we unpack Commandment #5: “Honor Your Father and Mother” and Commandment #6: “You Shall Not Murder.”
What does it really mean to honor your parents? Especially in today’s world? Is this commandment only for kids, or does it extend to beyond youth?
Then we tackle one of the most debated commandments: “You shall not murder.” Was God forbidding all taking of life—or a specific kind? What about abortion, self-defense, or war? What does Scripture actually teach?
Join us for a powerful teaching as Gary helps us uncover timeless truths, real-life applications, and God’s heart behind His law in “The 10 Commandments: #5 & #6”

Most of us have probably recited what is called "The Lord's Prayer" But have you ever stopped and thought about what it is saying? And did you realize that this wasn't just a quaint prayer muttered by someone in the Bible, but was actually spoken by Jesus as an answer to a question on how to pray?
With that insight, The Lord's Prayer as a guide to prayer, it takes on a whole new meaning, and today Donn helps us explore what Jesus was trying to convey to us when it comes to our communication with the Creator of the universe!
Each of us should walk away today with a whole new look on something we all should do often, and we are sure you are going to be challenged and encouraged as we also ask: "Teach me to Pray"

Many Christians are confused when it comes to Christ’s return. Is the Rapture the same event as the Second Coming, or are they two different moments in God’s prophetic timeline? In this message, we open Scripture to uncover the differences between these two great events.
Along the way, we’ll look at typologies like Enoch before the flood, Israel preserved through tribulation, and Noah’s deliverance all pointing to God’s plan for His people. Most importantly, we’ll discover why this understanding isn’t just about prophecy charts: it changes how we live in daily expectation of Christ’s soon return.
Whether you’ve wrestled with these questions for years, or are hearing this teaching for the first time, this sermon will encourage you to live with hope, urgency, and readiness as we look into the “Rapture and the Second Coming”

In this message, we continue our journey through the Ten Commandments, looking closely at Commandments 3 and 4.
The 3rd Commandment: “Do not take the name of the Lord your God in vain.” What does this really mean? Is it really that big of deal? Gary explores this, including some speech that falls into this category that may surprise you!
The 4th Commandment: “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.” How should Christians view the Sabbath today? Why is this in there? And isn't that just for the Jewish people to observe?
Join us as we explore the deeper meaning behind these commandments, uncover how they point us to Jesus, and learn how to apply God’s truth in our lives today.

How should Christians respond when tragedy strikes? In this message, we look at the heartbreaking loss of Charlie Kirk and the larger question of how followers of Christ are to face suffering, grief, fear, and anger. Scripture reminds us that tragedy is not the end of the story, and that God’s promises stand even in the darkest valleys.
Through biblical truth and real-life reflection, this message offers encouragement for navigating sorrow with faith, hope, and courage. We explore why the world hates those who stand for Christ, how the Bible prepares us for persecution, and how we can shine the light of Jesus when tragedy seems overwhelming.
Whether you are in a season of grief or seeking to better understand how to walk with others through pain, this message will equip and strengthen you to respond in a distinctly Christian way as we look at "Tragedy, and the Christian Response"

Why does fellowship matter? Why should we gather as the church? Is the day of worship—Saturday, Sunday, or even Wednesday what really matters, or is there something deeper?
In this message we explore what God’s Word says about the importance of gathering together as believers. Using relatable and powerful illustrations, Al helps us discover why God designed us for community, not isolation. Today we seek to understand the relationship between "Fellowship and the Church"

If you struggle with understanding the concept of salvation or are plagued by false teachings of following traditions rather than Christ alone, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. We would love to help!
Please watch our archive of messages on a variety of topics. Please like and share our content with others that can benefit from what God has inspired our array of speakers to bring to the body.
Most importantly, be sure you are secure in your relationship with God and Christ Jesus. It is so simple. Do not wait. Tomorrow may be too late…
