Are you interested in learning more about #sustainability and #entrepreneurship? Effie, one of our team members, met Desirée Klemmensen, creator of the sustainable fashion brand "Inuit Beads" and together they created an interesting #podcast on #sustainability, #upcycling and #femaleentrepreneurship
Let's listen to their story: "I met Desirée while working together in a project on social entrepreneurship in Estonia back in February. I admired her colorful beaded earrings and wanted to know more about them. While sitting down for a friendly chat, I was astonished to learn that she actually makes these earrings herself and that she has just found a way to minimize the use of plastics when shipping out her products. Her inspiration is drawn by the unique Greenlandic culture and landscapes, the birthland of her mother. Beading is a way for Desirée to connect to her Greenlandic roots and though beading, she hopes to contribute to sustaining and developing the Greenlandic culture. A pair of earrings takes up to three hours to be completed and the beads require careful sewing. What I found particularly interesting is that she uses the waste product of fox fur as an upcycling method to create some of her most unique fluff earrings".
