EP 25 - My baby was born with bruises? Slate Gray Nevi - Formerly Mongolian Blue Spots.
Lynn finally made it to an orchard this week and got to feed some goats!
She’s also knee-deep in studying to become a Gentle Sleep Coach to help parents sleep train their child that supports a secure attachment. She will need 3 families who are interested in sleep training their child during her course in order to be certified and these will be free of charge! You can contact Lynn through email below.
This week’s episode is all about birthmarks and how some birthmarks are very popular amongst people of colour. When her daughter Genevieve was born, Lynn thought she had bruised her during labour (lol). Turns out there are some specific birthmarks called Slate Gray Nevi which mimic the look of bruises to the point of possible false accusations of abuse. Genevieve’s midwives documented her Slate Gray Nevi to avoid any suspicions before transferring her care to a family doctor. Lynn speaks about growing up with her own facial birthmark and shares funny stories.
