Yasmine El Baramawy - Trauma and Healing

Guest: Yasmine El Baramawy is an Egyptian musician, sound artist, oud performer and composer based in Malmö. She has developed an original sound universe around her practice of the oud (modified and augmented by a low string) but also around concrète music and other electronic experiments. Her approach is characterized by sound research exploring both the acoustic tradition of the oud and adventurous and transversal sound practices.

Host: Lisa Blanning is an American writer and editor on music, art and culture, as well as a booking agent. She is a former editor at The Wire Magazine in London and Electronic Beats in Berlin – the city she currently operates out of. She is especially engaged in movements in contemporary electronic music and digital art and culture.

Johanna Knutsson

Guest: Swedish musician Johanna Knutsson is beloved for her techno productions, DJ sets, and labels – including UFO Station Recordings (run with long-time production partner Hans Berg) and ZODIAC 44 (with Luca Lozano) – but the magic ambient sound of her debut album Tollarp Transmissions (Kontra Musik, 2019) revealed her fluency with another side of electronic music.
