4:20 pm There are several protocols of law that we flirt with in our daily lives, like the impact of a name change on a woman’s financial situation after marriage, after divorce and on joint custody of kids. Other issues maybe how to protect yourself from kidnapping charges when travelling alone with kids, or being detained overseas on trumped up charges, or being asked to submit your phone for inspection whenreturning from overseas. Attorney Uma Mantravadi joins us today to provide some guidance.
4:50 pm Sewa International is a Hindu-faith-based, non-profit humanitarian organization that provides disaster relief and runs development programs focused on family services,health, education, and women's empowerment. It is part of a larger movement that started in India in 1989 and operates in over 20 countries with the US branch founded in 2003. The Houston Chapter will be holding its fundraiser on December 13. To tell us more about its activities, we are joined today by SEWA Director of Marketing Nikhil Jain.
5:20 pm Swami Vidyadishananda is a highly ordained Vedic monk who reveals Himalayan Vedic wisdom based on his Sanskrit heritage. He Vedic philosophies with exquisite clarityand initiates seekers into Himalayan meditation techniques. As head of the Hansavedas Mission and founding monk of the Self Enquiry Life Fellowship, he guides seekers and devotees. Swami ji is in town for a book launch, discourses and workshops through Dec 5, and then at Barsana Dham in Austin on Dec 9-15. He joins us today by phone.
