Due to the abundance of amazing new releases in the world of rock n’ punk n’ metal, we are once again going to forego our annual Christmas episode for a 2-parter Shallow Graves 2024! At the end of every year, Kevin does a solo episode celebrating top releases of the year, but there are too many artists that Captain Content heard this year, where he said, “…I’d like a little more of that!" So, Kevin’s Christmas present to the Captain is songs from artists that he said he dug… Hope you dig these 2025 tunes also!

This week it’s the Captain’s Birthday! How does Robert want to celebrate his annual trip around the sun??? With a heavy dose of rocket-powered SPACE GRUNGE!!! Back in Ep. 283’s Space Rock episode, we heard the term “Space Grunge” to describe a band called Astronomie. Robert loved it and said that’s what he wants for his Birthday. Kevin scoured the galaxy to find other examples of this sonic assault, somewhere between space rock, stoner metal, grunge, and alternative metal! Come blast off and have a blast with us!

This week, a continuation of our series called “In The Shadow Of…”, where we compare obscure bands to a mainstream act. This is not about copycats, but more about artists with similar vibes, a shared sonic landscape, or whose songwriting and playing styles are sympatico. This is another band that is near and dear to both of your humble hosts. A band that is synonymous with the word “Rock n’ Roll”. A band of outlaws, rebels, and riffage; the iconic MOTÖRHEAD! Join us as we discover other bands that were influenced and inspired by England’s loudest band.

It is with heavy hearts that we present this week’s episode as a tribute to Paul Daniel "Ace" Frehley. The rock 'n’ roll icon, legendary guitar god, and former KISS guitarist, passed away on October 16, 2025, after suffering a fall in his home studio weeks earlier. Kevin has a profound connection to KISS and Ace as a lifelong fan and proud member of the KISS Army. While not an obscure artist by any means (the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer had 10 gold records, 5 multi-platinum records with KISS, and a platinum solo album), the duo tries to share some lesser-known songs, including a few crazy guest appearances. Excuse Kevin’s extensive ramblings about the great Space Ace, but this loss was hard, and the tribute is necessary. Ace was a true character, who played a character, and played with character. A genuine original. A true rock star.

This week, Robert and Kevin get back to their regional roots with some foot-stomping Southern Rock. A perfect blend of country, blues, and hard rock with just a hint of twang. While your hosts, being native Floridians and Carolinians, were exposed to this genre of music due to their proximity, it has certainly expanded its reach globally and is appreciated worldwide. Join us as we embrace our culture and play some down-home tunes.

It’s time once again to bow down to the ferocious ladies of rock! Our 8th episode in a series dedicated to women who bring the fury with style and passion. This time, we are paying tribute to the '90s and the Riot Grrrl movement of that decade. A movement all about women being empowered to express anger, rage, and frustration like never before. Piss off a man; you can fight it out and then go have a pint at the pub. Piss off a woman, and you will pay for it 10-fold. These are ladies that play loud and heavy with attitude and… balls?

This week we are giving a cheers to ten years! Join us as we celebrate the anniversary of the Old Smyrna Firehouse (InObscuria and Captain Content HQ). We get the inside scoop from the man himself on how this relic of a building was brought back to life to all of its firehouse glory and beyond. The building is not only Robert’s home, but it is also an exhibit within the community and is utilized for private events, weddings, photoshoots, TV commercials, and feature-length films. Oh, and it’s where we record the show every week! We celebrate by listening to songs that will get you fired up and leave you with a burning sensation!

Kevin learns a valuable lesson about not trying to control an interview with rock stars, and specifically not with lead singers. Just let them go, like the crazed animals they are!

The ones where we hand out golden pentagrams to bands that wear their denim and leather proudly! What’s old is new again with the re-interpretation of New Wave Of British Heavy Metal known as New Wave Of Traditional Heavy Metal! These are all bands selected for the coveted Tony Award by the man himself: our esteemed Chairman, Mr. Tony Griggs!
