How to Make Your New Year's Resolutions Stick Past February

Merry Christmas and welcome to this special holiday episode!

As we stand just one week away from the new year, millions of people are setting New Year's resolutions. But here's the hard truth: more than 80% won't make it past January. Many won't even make it to mid-February.

But what if this year could be different?

In this episode, I'm sharing a powerful technique from Dr. David Hawkins' book Letting Go that reveals the real reason your resolutions fail—and how to finally make them stick.

Here's what most people miss:

Every goal you set—whether it's making more money, finding a partner, losing weight, or growing your business—isn't actually about the practical outcome. It's about the emotional outcome you're seeking.

You don't want more money. You want freedom, security, or peace. You don't want a relationship. You want connection, worthiness, or to stop feeling alone. You don't want a new job. You want fulfillment, recognition, or to feel valued.

And here's the problem: When you try to solve emotional problems with practical solutions alone, you stay stuck in the same patterns—no matter how many strategies you try.

In this episode, you'll discover:

  • The rarely discussed technique that makes resolutions actually stick
  • Why solving problems with feelings (not just logic) changes everything
  • How to identify the TRUE emotional outcome beneath every goal you set
  • The powerful questions to ask yourself BEFORE setting any New Year's resolution
  • Real examples: What you're REALLY seeking when you want more money, a relationship, or career success
  • How to uncover the deeper root emotion sabotaging your goals
  • Why your subconscious keeps trapping you in old patterns (and how to break free)
  • The emotional layers beneath common goals: loneliness → fear of being unlovable → unworthiness
  • How to stop self-sabotaging by February and create lasting change

When you identify the TRUE emotional root of your goal, the path forward becomes clear. And more importantly, you stop chasing external achievements hoping they'll fix internal emotional wounds.

Why this matters for making resolutions stick:

Your subconscious runs 90-95% of your decisions. If you're setting goals from your conscious mind (strategies, plans, SMART goals) but your subconscious is running on unresolved emotional patterns (unworthiness, fear, lack), you'll self-sabotage every time.

This is why the same problems keep showing up.This is why different strategies don't work. This is why you give up by February.

The solution isn't another strategy. It's emotional resolution.

This episode is for you if:

  • You're about to set New Year's resolutions and want them to actually stick
  • You've tried every strategy but keep ending up in the same patterns
  • You accomplish goals but still don't feel fulfilled
  • You know WHAT you want but can't figure out WHY you're stuck
  • You're ready for a resolution approach that creates lasting change

Why Your Best Employees Are Quietly Quitting (And What Leaders Miss About People) | Dr. Michelle Griffin

What if the reason your high performers are burning out has nothing to do with workload—and everything to do with how they're being seen?

In this episode, I sit down with Dr. Michelle Griffin, PhD candidate in Industrial-Organizational Psychology and founder of Griffin Resources, to talk about what's really happening in today's workplace. Michelle shares her journey from feeling undervalued in corporate HR to building her own successful consulting firm—and what she learned about leadership, worth, and people along the way.

In this conversation, we explore:

  • Why employees leave good jobs (hint: it's not always about money)
  • The hidden cost of treating people like workers instead of humans
  • How imposter syndrome shows up for high-achieving women—and what to do about it
  • What younger generations actually want from work (and why it matters)
  • The difference between people-focused leadership and performative leadership
  • How to create psychological safety and work-life balance in high-pressure environments
  • Why feeling undervalued triggers survival mode—and how that affects performance

New Year's Resolutions Don't Work for High Achievers. Here's Why.

Hit subscribe for more episodes of Insightful Success! You hit your goal. Made the money. Got the promotion. Launched the business.

So why don't you feel different?

Here's what most people don't realize: You're chasing goals when you should be chasing feelings.

You want the six figures because you think it'll make you feel confident. You want the promotion because you think it'll make you feel proud. You want the business because you think it'll make you feel free.

But here's the problem - if you wait until you achieve the goal to feel the emotion, you train your brain into a never-ending cycle. Goal. Achievement. Brief happiness. Next goal. Repeat.

In this episode:

  • Why goal-setting without emotional connection keeps you stuck
  • How to identify the feelings you're actually chasing (not just the goals)
  • The recycling technique: accessing desired emotions NOW, not later
  • How to stop training your brain to only feel happy when goals are met
  • Why this needs to become a lifestyle, not just a strategy

You don't need another goal-setting framework. You need to feel what you're chasing before you achieve it.

Imposter Syndrome Is Actually a Rejection of Joy (Here's How to Fix It)

What if imposter syndrome isn't about not being good enough? What if it's actually about your inability to celebrate when you ARE good enough?

In this solo episode, I'm sharing a perspective on imposter syndrome that you've probably never heard before—and it's going to change how you see your success.

Here's what most people get wrong about imposter syndrome:

We think it's about lacking confidence or fearing we'll be "found out." But after 15+ years of clinical work with high-achieving women, I've seen the real pattern: Imposter syndrome is a rejection of joy.

It's not that you don't deserve success. It's that your nervous system literally cannot let you celebrate it.

In this episode, I break down:

  • Why imposter syndrome is actually a subconscious inability to feel joy and celebration
  • The fear-driven cycle keeping you stuck: accomplish → can't celebrate → need more validation → resentment
  • How cultural messages like "be humble" or "don't brag" reinforce this pattern
  • Why waiting for "big wins" to celebrate is actually making imposter syndrome worse
  • The daily practice that builds your capacity to genuinely celebrate success
  • How your body holds the key to breaking the imposter cycle
  • Where emotions like joy, stress, and peace actually live in your body (and why this matters)
  • The lifestyle shift that makes imposter syndrome impossible to maintain

The core insight:

If you can't celebrate the small, everyday wins, your nervous system won't suddenly know how to celebrate the big ones. The promotion, the milestone, the achievement you've been chasing—when you get there, you'll feel the same emptiness because you haven't built the capacity for joy.

The solution isn't more accomplishments. It's a daily practice of welcoming joy.

This means:

  • Acknowledging small successes every single day
  • Noticing where joy, calm, and peace show up in your body
  • Building emotional capacity through embodied awareness, not just positive thinking
  • Breaking the cycle of external validation by learning to feel your own emotions

Key topics covered:

  • The four core fears driving imposter syndrome (rejection, disapproval, disappointment, failure)
  • Why high-achievers reject joy as a survival strategy
  • The difference between celebrating wins and "boasting"
  • How to use your body as a guide to access emotions
  • Why imposter syndrome is a nervous system issue, not a mindset issue
  • The practice that rewires your relationship with success

This episode is for you if:

  • You accomplish things but immediately move to the next goal without celebrating
  • You feel uncomfortable when people praise you
  • You need external validation to feel worthy of your success
  • You're tired of the "never enough" cycle
  • You want to actually enjoy what you've built

The truth is: You're not an imposter. You're just stuck in a pattern where your nervous system equates joy with danger. And that pattern? It can be changed.

Action steps from this episode:

  1. Notice where joy, stress, and peace show up physically in your body today
  2. Acknowledge one small, everyday success before bed tonight
  3. Join the Insightful Success community for more embodied practices and support

Thanksgiving Special: Why Gratitude Affirmations Don't Work (And What Actually Does)

Don't forget to hit subscribe to this podcast and access my website for more information on how to connect with me: https://insightfulessence.com

You've written in your gratitude journal. You've said the affirmations. You've posted the sticky notes. So why do you still feel stressed, anxious, and overwhelmed?

Here's what most people miss: gratitude practiced only at the mindset level won't rewire your nervous system. In this Thanksgiving week episode, I'm breaking down why traditional gratitude practices fall short—and how to practice gratitude at the emotional level where real transformation happens.

In this episode, you'll discover:

  • Why gratitude affirmations alone don't eliminate stress and anxiety
  • The one test that reveals if you're actually bad at receiving gratitude (hint: it involves compliments)
  • How gratitude shows up in your body—and why that matters more than what you write in your journal
  • Why stress and gratitude cannot coexist (and what that means for your nervous system)
  • The hidden connection between rejecting compliments and a scarcity mindset
  • How to practice emotional gratitude in your relationships (even when you're focused on what's "wrong")
  • Why wanting is actually a form of scarcity—and how to shift out of it

Key insight: If you're practicing gratitude but still experiencing stress, overwhelm, or control issues in other areas of your life, you're only working at the conscious level. True gratitude happens in the body, not just the mind.

The gratitude practice that actually works:Stop just saying "I'm grateful for..." and start asking: How does gratitude feel in my body? Where do I feel it? How long can I stay in that feeling? This is what rewires your nervous system from survival mode (I don't have) to thriving mode (I already have).

Who this episode is for:

  • Anyone frustrated that gratitude practices aren't reducing their stress
  • High-achievers who struggle to receive compliments or let people help them
  • People who journal about gratitude but still feel anxious and overwhelmed
  • Anyone who wants to shift from scarcity mindset to abundance

So why do you feel so lost?

Here's what nobody tells you about leaving hustle culture: the hardest part isn't the decision - it's what comes after. That weird in-between phase where you don't know who you are without the constant doing.

Your old patterns will try to pull you back. Your nervous system will resist the slowdown. You'll question if you made the right choice.

This is normal. And this episode will help you navigate it.

In this episode:

  • Why feeling lost after making a big change is actually a good sign
  • How to reconnect with yourself when you've been disconnected for so long
  • 3 practical steps: self-awareness, self-regulation, and commitment

How to Heal Childhood Patterns Before They Formed (Inner Child Work for High-Achievers)

You've achieved success. You've checked the boxes. But something still feels off.

Maybe you feel empty despite having "made it." Maybe you can't seem to enjoy what you've built. Maybe you're stuck in patterns—perfectionism, people-pleasing, control—that you know are holding you back, but positive thinking and willpower haven't been enough to change them.

Here's why: those patterns were encoded in your nervous system before you even had language. Before age 7, most of us experienced moments that taught us how to survive—and we've been running those same survival programs ever since.

But what if you could go back? Not to relive the trauma, but to intervene BEFORE the pattern formed?

In this episode, I share a powerful technique that uses the imagination to rewire neural pathways and rebuild trust in yourself. Instead of comforting your inner child after the wound, you go back 10 minutes before it happens—and give that younger version of you what she needed to stay grounded, safe, and loved.

In this episode, you'll learn:

  • Why childhood patterns still run your life (even if you're successful)
  • The healing technique no one talks about: going back BEFORE the trauma
  • How imagination can rewire your nervous system at the source
  • Why this works for anyone feeling stuck, disconnected, or unfulfilled—not just people with "trauma"
  • How to do this practice safely and effectively

This isn't about reliving painful memories. It's about providing the co-regulation that was missing—so your nervous system can finally stop running survival mode and let you actually live.

The 4 Hidden Personality Types Blocking You From Real Fulfillment

How survival-based habits disguised as personality traits keep high-achievers feeling stuck, burnt out, and unfulfilled.

You can have all the success in the world—and still feel like something’s missing.
In this episode, Roselyn Perez breaks down four survival-based personality profiles that high-performing individuals unconsciously develop to stay safe, seen, or in control.

These hidden patterns—The Controller, The People Pleaser, The Perfectionist, and The Invisible One—are not who you are. They’re coping strategies your nervous system built early in life to protect you.

The problem? When success is built on survival, it’s never enough.

Roselyn explains how each profile operates, the emotional root behind it, and how to disrupt the thought-behavior cycle that keeps you trapped in stress and burnout.

You’ll also learn a powerful self-inquiry tool:
✨ “What would I rather feel instead?” — a question that begins the journey from striving to peace.

If you’re ready to build success that feels aligned, calm, and deeply fulfilling, this episode will help you remember who you are beneath the survival patterns.

From "I'm Not Smart Enough" to Six-Figure Coach: The Real Work Behind Manifestation

What if everything you've been told about manifestation is missing the most crucial piece?

In this raw and transformative conversation, Jessica Tellian shares how she went from believing she was "stupid" due to having been diagnosed with a learning disability to building a six-figure brand in six months, and why that wasn't actually the hard part.

This episode goes beyond vision boards and affirmations to explore the uncomfortable truth: you don't manifest what you want; you manifest what you are. And sometimes becoming who you need to be means saying no to Nike, leaving a stable career, and completely unidentifying with who you thought you were.

Jessica and host Roselyn Perez dig into:

  • The misconceptions keeping you stuck (spoiler: positive thinking alone won't cut it)
  • Why your emotions—not your thoughts—are the real currency of manifestation
  • The identity work that actually shifts your reality
  • How limiting beliefs formed in childhood still run the show (and how to rewrite them)
  • The courage required to let go of who you were to become who you're meant to be

Whether you're skeptical of manifestation or all-in, this conversation reveals why the real transformation happens in the shadows, in the emotional work nobody talks about. If you've tried manifestation and it didn't work, this episode explains why—and what you're actually missing.

Why High-Achieving Women Say 'I'm Fine' When They're Not (The Impact on Your Wellbeing & Self-Worth)

"I'm fine."

You say it automatically. Even when you're exhausted. Even when you're overwhelmed. Even when you're barely holding on.

But every time you say "I'm fine" when you're not, you're teaching your brain that you don't matter.

In this episode, I'm exposing why high-achieving women default to "I'm fine"—and how this normalized survival mode is destroying your mental well-being, keeping you in unworthiness, and blocking you from actually enjoying your success.

TIMESTAMPS:

  • 0:20 - Normalizing the "I'm fine" mindset and its impact on mental wellbeing
  • 1:01 - How unworthiness keeps you in survival mode instead of purpose
  • 4:49 - Why you tie self-worth to accomplishments (and can't celebrate wins)

Why Your Old Patterns Keep Coming Back: The Identity Work Nobody Talks About

You've done the work. You know your patterns. You understand why you overwork, why you can't say no, why you feel responsible for everyone's emotions. You've tried changing your behavior, setting boundaries, practicing better habits. And yet—the old patterns come creeping back.

Here's what's missing: identity work.

This episode explores the hidden connection between who you believe you are and why your nervous system refuses to let old patterns go. When your identity is still attached to being "the problem-solver," "the one who has it all figured out," or "the person everyone depends on," your brain will literally process information differently—keeping you stuck in overthinking, worrying, and survival mode.

In this conversation, we dive into:

  • Why behavior change alone never sticks: The difference between changing what you do and changing who you are
  • How identity shapes your thought patterns: Why you overthink, worry constantly, and can't quiet your mind (and what's actually driving it)
  • The attachment that keeps patterns alive: How staying attached to an old identity sabotages your nervous system's ability to evolve
  • The three pillars of real change: Self-awareness, somatic work, and identity shift—and why all three are essential
  • The practical identity work that actually rewires your nervous system: Tools you can implement today

If you've hit a ceiling with traditional coaching or self-help approaches, this episode names what's been missing—and gives you the missing piece.

This work doesn't happen in isolation. Join a community of leaders doing the real work of identity transformation.

Why Successful Women Still Feel Exhausted (The Identity Shift You're Missing)

You're building success. You're leading. You're achieving. So why do you still feel overwhelmed, tired, anxious, and apathetic?

Here's what I've seen with high-performing women: they think burnout and exhaustion are just part of the entrepreneurship journey. They normalize feeling drained as the "cost" of success. But what if I told you that's only true when you're building from survival mode?

The real issue isn't your workload or your schedule - it's your identity.

In this episode, I'm breaking down:

  • Why success built from survival always feels exhausting (even with millions in the bank)
  • The difference between survival-driven identity vs. abundance-driven identity
  • How high-performing women unknowingly operate from wounds, not wisdom
  • The identity shift required to build wealth that actually feels good
  • Why overwhelm, tiredness, and anxiety aren't "normal" parts of entrepreneurship
  • How to recognize if you're building from survival or growth mindset

Here's the truth: You can achieve massive success from survival mode - many women do. But you'll never enjoy it. You'll always feel like you're running, proving, or escaping something. The identity shift moves you from building to avoid pain to building because you're aligned with your purpose.

This is the work that changes everything - not just your business results, but how success actually feels in your body.

Anxiety is not the emotion keeping you stuck, this one is...

You've been focusing on anxiety, stress, and overwhelm - but what if those aren't the real problem?

Here's what I've seen with high-achieving women: they're managing their anxiety, doing the personal development work, and checking all the boxes. Yet they still feel like something's missing. That's because the real emotion keeping them stuck is one they've completely overlooked: apathy.

Apathy is the perfect facade. It makes you feel indifferent, nothing's-wrong-here, I'm-doing-fine - while secretly covering up the wounds driving your overachievement. It doesn't trigger alarms like anxiety does, which is exactly why it's so dangerous.

In this episode, I'm breaking down:

  • Why apathy is more detrimental than anxiety or stress (it flies completely under the radar)
  • How to recognize if apathy is present in your life
  • The emotions hiding underneath apathy (anger, hate, shame, guilt, sadness)
  • Why saying "I've forgiven" or "that doesn't bother me" might actually be apathy talking
  • How apathy steals your joy, contentment, and clarity
  • Why knowledge alone won't be enough to work through this

Here's the truth: underneath apathy are all the emotions you've been avoiding - and working through them (safely) is actually your pathway to genuine happiness, peace, and freedom.

This work requires safe space and self-regulation tools. That's why I created a 28-day program where you can do this work with support - and if you complete all the tasks, you get your money back: https://insightfulessence.com/from-chaos-to-calm-sales-page

Survival Mode vs. Thriving Mode: Which One Are You Living?

Are you satisfied with your life? Really, truly satisfied? If you're like most high-achieving women, the answer is probably no - even though you "should" be grateful for everything you have.

Here's what I've discovered: there's a massive difference between growth that comes from survival and growth that comes from thriving. One leaves you constantly chasing and never satisfied. The other brings ease, peace, and genuine fulfillment.

In this episode, I'm breaking down:

  • Why survival-based success never feels like enough
  • How we've normalized survival patterns into our everyday lives
  • The hidden cost of operating from cortisol and adrenaline daily
  • Why emotions find outlets in your relationships, business, and health when ignored
  • The difference between surviving and truly thriving
  • How to own your amazing life without feeling guilty about it

This isn't about having a "perfect" childhood or avoiding all struggle. It's about recognizing when you're running on survival programming and choosing to step into your natural state of creativity and love.

Ready to transform from survival to thriving? I have an incredible 28-day program with a money-back guarantee if you do the work: https://insightfulessence.com/from-chaos-to-calm

Subscribe if you're tired of feeling numb while looking successful on the outside.

Strong Women Need Boundaries Too (Here's Why You're Struggling)

Think boundaries are for other people? Think again.

Here's what I see with my high-achieving clients: they're incredibly strong women who can handle anything life throws at them, but they struggle with one thing - setting boundaries. Why? Because they've been taught that boundaries are about controlling others, when really they're the ultimate expression of self-love.

In this episode, I'm breaking down:

  • Why the strongest women often have the weakest boundaries
  • The real purpose of boundaries (hint: it's all about you)
  • 4 false personas that sabotage boundary setting:

Plus, I'm sharing 4 practical tools to rebuild healthy boundaries:

  1. Increase your self-awareness
  2. Regulate your nervous system first
  3. Make intentional choices to change old patterns
  4. Take action even when it feels uncomfortable

This isn't about being mean or selfish - it's about honoring what matters most to you and your wellbeing.

3 Signs You Only Like Yourself When You're Winning

Subscribe if you're ready to discover whether you truly accept yourself or just think you do.

In this episode, I reveal the three signs that expose conditional self-acceptance - something most high-achieving women don't even realize they're doing. You might think you love yourself, but if you only feel good when you're winning, have impossible standards for everyone around you, and can never truly enjoy your successes, your self-acceptance has strings attached.

Here's what we cover:

  • Why only feeling good about yourself when you're achieving is a red flag
  • How your unrealistic expectations of others reveal your relationship with yourself
  • Why your contentment never lasts (and what this says about your self-worth)
  • The survival-based programming that makes self-acceptance conditional
  • How to begin accepting yourself without having to earn it

This isn't about self-esteem or confidence - it's about recognizing the unconscious patterns that keep you trapped in a cycle of having to prove your worth over and over again.

If you're tired of feeling like you're never enough, even when you're successful, this episode will help you understand why - and what to do about it.

Anxiety is Just Anticipated Grief (And How to Stop It)

What if I told you that anxiety isn't really about the future - it's about grief?

Here's what I've discovered: anxiety is anticipated grief. Your survival system is trying to protect you from a loss that hasn't happened yet, and it's keeping you stuck in patterns that no longer serve you.

In this episode, I break down:

  • Why your brain creates anxiety (it's actually trying to help)
  • How survival wiring tricks you into thinking you're in danger
  • 4 practical tools to rewire your response:

This isn't just theory - these are the exact tools I use with high-achieving clients who look successful on the outside but feel anxious on the inside.

Here’s what AI is doing to your emotional intelligence

Hit subscribe for more powerful insight and 💕 Book your free clarity call: https://insightfulessence.com/claritycall 💬 Comment "MIRROR" if this explains everything

What if AI is actually pushing us toward something we've been avoiding: emotional intelligence?

Here's what hit me: Throughout millions of years of catastrophic events on this planet, one thing consistently prevailed - intelligence was always favored for survival. We've mastered that part - we have food, shelter, safety. Yet so many high-achieving women are still feeling anxious, stressed, and emotionally exhausted.

Does this make sense to anyone else?

Here's what I think is happening... We're being called to our next evolutionary step. We've conquered the external world, but we're still running on survival-based programming internally.

And here's where it gets interesting - many of us are turning to AI for emotional support and guidance. I'm not against AI, but let me share what I've noticed: AI is missing something crucial that only humans can provide - mirror neurons.

These little guys are how we actually transmit emotions to each other and create real healing. It's why you can feel someone's energy when they walk into a room.

So while AI can give us information, it can't give us the emotional attunement that actually rewires our nervous system and helps us move from survival mode to truly thriving.

Here's the beautiful thing, though - we get to choose. Are we using technology as a bridge to deeper human connection, or as a way to avoid the vulnerability that real growth requires?

What do you think? Have you caught yourself reaching for AI when what you really needed was an authentic human connection?
