Intellectual But Ignant
Bloody Diamonds - S2 EP46
In the latest episode of Intellectual But Ignant, we had a special guest—Mula FNF from Atlanta, Georgia—come through to share his story. I first met Mula through a mutual friend who’s no longer with us—shoutout to Yung Nellz—and we’ve stayed in touch ever since. In this episode, we talked about how Mula and Nellz first met, some of the rules and realities of prison life, and what originally led to Mula getting locked up. We also got into his journey of going legit, working for his father, and how that relationship has evolved. Mula opened up about his $1.6 million diamond fraud case, the lessons he learned from it, and the difference between lab-grown and natural diamonds. We even touched on the school-to-prison pipeline and how it affects our communities. Overall, it’s a well-balanced episode—equal parts of both intellectual and ignant. So kick back, relax don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe.

Intellectual But Ignant
Smoking Mirrors | S2 EP 45
In the latest episode of Intellectual but Ignant, we had a last-minute interview cancellation — but instead of scrapping the whole day, we decided to keep things moving. We brought in C.C. (short for Career Criminal), who joined Sage and me to chop it up on a various of topics. We covered everything from the capture of the last inmate standing Derrick Groves in Atlanta to the government shutdown and how it's affecting the people — even those who didn't vote.
We also did something new this episode and smoked up some marjuanna (I spelled it wrong on purpose) but whatever life be life’n so can you blame us.

This episode did leaned more on the ignant side of things but hey we still pushing. So kick back, relax don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe. Also follow us on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and TikTok!

Intellectual But Ignant
4th Quarter Run | S2 EP 44
In the latest episode of The Intellectual but Ignant, the gang is finally back together after a short hiatus— We were joined by Twin, aka Tashima Freeman (who’s also running for Council in the South Fulton City District), along with the always outspoken Aggy Amber and Skii mask Boogie was in the building as well

We touched on a little bit of everything — from thoughts on the Charlie Kirk situation to what’s going on in Atlanta’s music scene. We also reflected on the year so far, the lessons we’ve picked up along the way, and how we’re all just out here trying to make it, because life is definitely life’n.

This episode definitely leaned way more on the ignant side than intellectual — but that’s just how we do sometimes. So yea kick back relax and don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe. Follow us on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and TikTok!

Therapy session with Dj Muu | S2 EP 43
In the latest episode of Intellectual But Ignant, one of the hottest DJs out of Atlanta, Georgia—Muu—stopped by the office for a conversation. Due to some unexpected events the night before, the episode took a different turn. Instead of focusing solely on Muu’s career, Mako decided to turn it into more of a therapy/ vent session given the long history between the two.

That said, we still got into some great topics, including how Muu first got into DJing. We also touched on today’s generation—how they view love, the current state of music, and where the culture seems to be headed. So if you aint on nothing sit back relax, and don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe. Intellectual But Ignant
The Modest One | S2 EP 42
In the latest episode of Intellectual But Ignant, we had Ryan Billig stop by and chop it up with us about a few things. I first came across Ryan’s story randomly while scrolling through my little brother’s Instagram story. I saw a post about him getting picked out of the crowd for a one-on-one tournament, and after that, I knew I had to interview him.

Ryan is originally from Raleigh, North Carolina, but he was raised in Marietta, Georgia. Born into adoption, his parents put a basketball in his hands at an early age. He shared his journey with us—from playing as a kid, to competing at the Division III level, and eventually joining a semi-pro team.

Ryan also opened up about the emotional impact of losing both of his parents—one in 2021 and the other in 2023. Despite the hardships, he's continued to grind. Over the past four seasons with his semi-pro team, he’s nearly averaged a triple-double. And recently, preparation met opportunity when he was selected to play one-on-one on this coming season of the popular YouTube series Off the Dribble

What’s next for Ryan? Who knows—but if I had to guess, this won’t be the last time you hear his name. So kick back relax and don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe. Follow us on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and TikTok!

Intellectual But Ignant
The Hood Anchor | S2 EP 41
In the latest episode of Intellectual But Ignant, we were joined by a special guest who’s literally breaking the internet—one headline at a time—Hood Anchor YE.

If you’ve been tapped into any of the news coming out of Atlanta this year, chances are you’ve seen him first on the scene, giving raw, unfiltered updates with his signature East Atlanta commentary. YE is breaking barriers and shaking up how news is delivered in real time.

This episode was definitely on the ignant side—but also insightful. We got to know YE on a deeper level. A lot of people know him from his past, so we talked about his upbringing in East Atlanta and what inspired him to start reporting breaking news in such a raw, authentic way.

YE opened up about a tragic car accident that took the life of one of his childhood friends—an event that he was personally involved in—and how that moment changed him. We discussed his journey out of the streets and his push to do something positive with his life.

We even touched on some light tension he’s had with artist Kevin Gates, and the emotional connection he has to Kobe Bryant, whose passing fell on YE’s birthday.

YE also shared his thoughts on following your vision and what’s next for him as he continues to build his platform.

Intellectual But Ignant
Forty Forty Club| S2 EP40
In the latest episode of Intellectual But Ignant, Boogie and Tashima pulled up and we got straight to it. We covered a wide range of topics—from war and religion to the NBA Finals, and even joked about sending Shamar to battle.

Tashima put us on to America’s new favorite show, Love Island USA, so we made sure to check it out before recording. We also shared our takes on some of the greatest TV shows of all time.

Intellectual But Ignant
Clip Farming | S2 EP 39
In the latest episode of Intellectual but Ignant, Mako and Boogie might’ve taken the “ignant” part a little too far. Due to some sound issues, we had to pull back from our usual interview format—but trust, we still covered a lot. Mako, in a surprising twist, shifted his long-standing hate from Asians to Indian people (with what he claims are valid reasons). We also touched on the overlap between Men's Mental Health Month and Pride Month, shared our thoughts on the hype around the upcoming Lil Wayne album, and even threw out some NBA Finals predictions. Anyway, I’m tired of typing so sit back, relax, and don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe. Intellectual But Ignant
More Work To Do | S2 EP 38 | Coach Shep Edition
In the latest episode of Intellectual But Ignant, we had a real special guest—Coach Darnell "Shep" Shepard coming straight out of 375 Holt Road—. He’s the assistant coach for the reigning state champions at Wheeler High School, head of production at Honor Roll Clothing, a certified VertiMax trainer, and also lends a hand with the Decatur Blazers program. Mako and Shep dove deep into basketball talk, from Shep winning 4 out of the last 6 state championships to working under the legendary Coach Larry Thompson. We explored his early beginnings in New York, his move to Georgia, and how he found his calling as a coach. Coach Shep is what you’d call a true players’ coach—always front and center for both his current and former players. He spoke about recognizing greatness early on, including his long-standing relationship with Utah Jazz starting point guard Isiah Collier, who he’s known since middle school. We also touched on the flawed ranking systems for high school athletes and how that motivates both him and his players. Shep opened up about how raising a child with autism has taught him patience and life lessons that carry over into how he coaches and supports his team. We talked about his journey with Honor Roll Clothing, a brand that’s been going strong for nearly 15 years, and how their slogan, “Excellence is a process,” applies to all areas of life. From legendary players he’s seen firsthand, to the historic talent coming out of Wheeler, to his sharp ear for music, the conversation was full of gems. It could’ve been a little more “ignant,” but overall, it was a powerful discussion with someone allot would consider is already a Georgia legend. Intellectual But Ignant
Like Fathers Like Sons | S2 EP 37 | Decatur Blazers Edition
In the latest episode of Intellectual But Ignant, Mako and Boogie sit down with an urban Atlanta hoop legend—Coach Tay Uno. He’s the head basketball coach at Snellville Middle, assistant boys’ coach at South Gwinnett High, and one of the directors of the nationally ranked AAU program, the Decatur Blazers. Joining him were his son, Kei-Sean Roberts—widely regarded as the No. 1 point guard in the class of 2030—and Treu Taylor, one of the purest shooters in Georgia from the class of 2029.

This episode dives into a bit of everything for true basketball heads. Coach Tay shares his story, growing up in Atlanta’s 4th Ward Boulevard and hooping alongside his longtime friend, NBA vet Lou Williams. He opens up about the bond he has with his son Kei-Sean, how kids sometimes overlook their parents' legacy, and how that dynamic plays out on and off the court.

We also discuss how Coach Tay and his best friend, Coach Just—Treu’s father and a co-founder of the Decatur Blazers—built one of the top grassroots programs in the country from the ground up. Tay speaks on the strong village of support behind the Blazers and how overwhelming, yet appreciated, that love truly is.

The conversation covers who Kei-Sean and Treu model their games after, their favorite NBA players, and what it's like for Kei-Sean to constantly play up in age groups—and how that pressure sharpens his skills. We talk about the grind today's youth hoopers are on, how taking a break can set you back, and Coach Tay even gives his take on the NIL (Name, Image, Likeness) movement.

Most importantly, we shine a light on what Tay and Just are building—a special, game-changing movement that even Jet Academy has partnered with. The buzz is real: people are starting to recognize that the Decatur Blazers may be home to the nation’s top talent and could become the No. 1 youth program for the classes of 2029 through 2036 and beyond.

This episode is packed with real basketball insight, the inspiring journey of two best friends creating something impactful, the example of fathers pouring into their sons, life gems—and of course, a little bit of that classic intellectual but ignant touch. Calm Cool & Collected | S2 EP 36
In the latest episode of Intellectual But Ignant, Mako sits down with entrepreneur, publicist, and A&R Tevin Ryles. Their conversation touches on a bit of everything—from Tevin’s upbringing to his passion for collecting LEGO sets and sneakers, and the surprising financial value behind those collections.

Tevin also opens up about his college journey at Valdosta State, his experience pledging, and how he got introduced to the clothing brand Oberon during that time. They dive into how he got started in public relations and some of the artists he’s had the chance to work with.

The episode also explores deeper topics like the stigma around the terms “baby daddy” and “baby mother,” and the importance of father figures—especially how you can often tell when a father is missing from someone's life. Tevin shares how becoming a father to his daughter changed his life for the better.

They wrap up by discussing the cultural differences between Las Vegas, Atlanta, and Los Angeles—all places Tevin has lived—and reflect on the value of appreciating the journey just as much as the destination.

Free Hugs | S2 EP35
In the latest episode of Intellectual But Ignant, Mako sits down with Jay Chulo, CEO and founder of Free Hugs. They cover a little bit of everything—from growing up on Hambrick Road to having most of his family in Chicago, and what it was like being the youngest of five siblings.

Jay opens up about the music that shaped him, from Sade to Teena Marie, and how those soulful sounds influenced not only his life but the way he treats women. The conversation also touches on Kobe Bryant’s impact on this generation and how embracing the Mamba Mentality helps you push through both adversity and success.

They dive into how Mako and Jay first met through a mutual friend—Yung Nellz—who’s no longer with us. Long live the legend. They reflect on how losing someone close can either break you or motivate you, depending on your mindset.

The two also discuss what it means to be a girl dad and how Jay’s daughter inspired the creation of Free Hugs. That love and inspiration continue to drive his work. On a broader scale, they even get into how tariffs with China could affect the clothing industry now and in the near future

Intellectual But Ignant
S2| EP 34 Blurry but you get the picture
In the latest episode of Intellectual But Ignant, the crew is back with a special back-to-back drop! Now, not to throw anyone under the bus, but apparently our cameraman didn’t convert the video properly so that's why the title is what it is—might be a little blurry. But hey, F it... we move. In this episode, Mako, Boogie, and Twin chop it up about all kinds of things—from being on the hunt to finding the plug on food stamps, to why they’re done tipping for takeout orders because, let’s be real, it’s draining. Boogie confesses to running off on Uber Eats orders after not getting tipped properly and Mako explains why he doesn’t tip uber eat orders all the time.. and thus, the domino effect continues. We also dig into the NIL deal surrounding the University of Tennessee’s quarterback, and we break down the Karmelo Anthony case along with the broader division we’re seeing in the country. Of course, it wouldn’t be an episode without our conspiracy theory segment—you’ll definitely want to tap in for that. We wrap things up with playoff predictions and a semi-breakdown of the games for Twin, who, let’s just say, sometimes needs a little help keeping up. Not gonna lie—this one leans heavy on the ignant side, but there are still some real gems in there. So kick back, relax, and don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe. Intellectual But Ignant
The Artisan | S2 EP33
In the latest episode of Intellectual But Ignant, Mako sits down for his first solo interview with artist and painter Jon Designz. They touched on a bit of everything—from Jon’s favorite movie being Heat, to growing up in a religious household and how that shaped his relationship with his mother into adulthood.
He shared how his grandmother played a pivotal role in his upbringing, instilling morals and principles that still guide him today. Jon opened up about getting married young, the lessons that came with that, and the difference between raising his son at a young age versus raising his daughter later in life.
We also got into his roots—being born and raised in Decatur, Georgia—and his views on co-parenting, especially how as a man, you often have to take the high road. Jon talked about building his interior design empire, how it’s opened doors for him globally, and the mindset that “there’s enough work for everyone to eat.”
He kept it real about the temptations that come with the job—especially with women—but emphasized the importance of discipline, because temptation doesn’t pay the bills.
We also dove into a powerful conversation about mental health, especially in the Black community, and how therapy is often overlooked or stigmatized among Black men.

Knocking Off The Dust | S2 EP32
ibi #season2

Season 2—
We’re back at it with the crew: Mako, Boogie, and Tashima. This episode is called “Knocking Off the Rust” for a reason—because that’s exactly what’s happening. We ran into a bunch of technical difficulties with the original recording, but that’s nothing new. Even though it’s the first episode of Season 2, it’s actually Episode 32 overall.

We talk about a little bit of everything, from catching up with the whole crew and what’s been going on in their lives, to Mako explaining his latest departure. Turns out, what seemed like a snowball effect led to something real—true love. We also dive into the vision behind the Pink Panther trailer and how that whole idea came to be. Boogie gets personal too—defending his religious beliefs and sending a direct message to all the Ahks who’ve been calling and threatening him about his thobe. Plus, he shares a wild out-of-body experience during our new Conspiracy Theory segment. We wrap things up talking about how student loans hit everyone’s credit scores this past February. We hope you enjoy this episode and understand—this is just the beginning of a lonnnnng journey Please Like the video, comment, subscribe & turn on your post notifications for more content
