Marcelo Garcia may have lost to Lachlan Giles but he is still the GOAT.
The Australian enjoyed a perfect ending to his career as he secured a highlight reel submission.
In the build-up to the One Championship event, we discussed who is the GOAT.
The more we talked about Marcelo, the stronger his case. Right now it seems he is the greatest to ever do it in no gi grappling.
That puts him ahead of the Roger Gracie and Gordon Ryan.
But in his most recent outing, Marcelo was submitted by Lachlan Giles, who announced his retirement after the match.
There was also a Who's Number One? event this weekend, where Luke Griffith secured a submission win over Felipe Pena in the main event.
