In April 1981, the small mountain town of Keddie, California, was shattered by a scene straight out of a nightmare. Inside Cabin 28, a mother, her teenage son, and his friend were brutally murdered — while a young daughter vanished without a trace.
What began as a horrific tragedy quickly became one of the most infamous unsolved cases in Northern California history. With lost evidence, mishandled leads, and questionable police work, the truth about what happened in Cabin 28 has remained buried for more than four decades.
This episode dives deep into the victims’ stories, the shocking details of that night, and how investigative failures may have allowed the killers to walk free.
What happens when the people meant to solve a crime become part of the mystery?
This is the Keddie Cabin Murders — a case twisted by time, silence, and bad police work.

Before Scream terrified audiences, a real-life horror unfolded in the quiet college town of Gainesville, Florida. In 1990, five students were brutally murdered over just four days — their lives stolen by a man the media would dub "The Gainesville Ripper." But behind the headlines and the Hollywood inspiration were real people — Sonja Larson, Christina Powell, Christa Hoyt, Tracy Paules, and Manuel Taboada — young, vibrant students with dreams, laughter, and futures waiting to unfold.
In this episode, we honor their stories — who they were before their names became part of a true crime legend — and look at how their tragic deaths inspired one of the most iconic horror franchises of all time. Because before there was Ghostface, there was Gainesville… and five lives that should never be forgotten.

In the winter of 1977, Sacramento became the setting of a nightmare. A series of brutal murders left the city paralyzed with fear — and behind it all was a man the media would come to call The Vampire Killer, Richard Chase.
But this episode isn't just about the darkness that consumed him. It's about the innocent lives he destroyed — Teresa Wallin, Evelyn Miroth, and others whose names deserve to be remembered far more than his. We explore Chase's unraveling mind, the chilling details that earned him his nickname, and the lasting impact his crimes had on a community that never forgot.
Because true crime should never just be about the killer — it's about remembering those who never got the chance to live their next day.

In the summer of 2017, in a quiet Ohio suburb, a secret came to light that stunned the nation. Eighteen-year-old Brooke Skylar Richardson was accused of hiding her pregnancy, giving birth alone in her bathroom, and burying her newborn daughter in the backyard while her family slept just feet away. The media frenzy that followed centered on Skylar—her appearance, her lifestyle, and her courtroom demeanor. But lost beneath the headlines was the story of the true victim: a baby girl who lived only moments, if at all, before her life was taken from her.
This episode delves into the chilling details of that night, the discovery that shocked investigators, and the conflicting accounts that left the world questioning what really happened inside that bathroom. Beyond the trial, we focus on the tragedy of a child whose life was cut short before it even began—and the haunting silence that surrounded her death.
We'll also bring you an important update on the Alexee Trevizo case, as her fight has reached the Supreme Court—an appeal that could have major implications for how her story unfolds in the eyes of the law.
And finally, we turn to the case of Laken Snelling, a former University of Kentucky cheerleader who is out on house arrest after her newborn baby was found in her closet. The allegations are as disturbing as they are tragic, echoing the same heartbreaking pattern of hidden pregnancies, desperate decisions, and innocent lives lost. Her story will become the focus of an upcoming episode, where we'll unravel the details and ask the difficult questions about secrecy, denial, and justice.

In this haunting episode, we go beyond the headlines to remember the victims of Hugo Selenski — the Pennsylvania man whose name became synonymous with horror after a mass grave was discovered in his Luzerne County backyard in 2003. While much of the media spotlight focused on Selenski's strange behavior, jailbreaks, and courtroom theatrics, we turn our focus to the lives he destroyed.
Among the victims were Michael Kerkowski, a local pharmacist, and Tammy Fassett, his girlfriend. Their families spent years seeking answers and justice. But they weren't the only ones: authorities uncovered the remains of at least three more individuals
Who were these victims? How did they cross paths with a charming yet dangerous manipulator? And why did it take so long for justice to be served?
Join us as we piece together the lives behind the names, exploring the human cost of Selenski's crimes and the deep scars left on a community still grappling with the horror uncovered in its own backyard.
