Episode 125: Value of Investing in People
This week, I pulled out a teaching from the archives. This is something I shared with the ONEHOP team as we were laying the foundation of the house of prayer. What did we want to pour into the foundation? What were the non-negotiables for us? I continue to ask the same kinds of questions in my classroom and family. What has the highest value? What do I want to give my time, attention and resources to? What is the legacy I want to leave? I pray this teaching will enrich and encourage you as you listen.

I Can Smile at My Future
Looking at Psalm 23:6 today, David speaks with confidence of his future reality. "Surely Your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever." What God has to offer is better than any other offer. God's goodness is unlike any goodness we have ever known. His love is steadfast, loyal and constant. The central theme from Genesis to Revelation is that God wants mankind to be with Him where He is. This is His desire. David has set his mind on the reality of another realm. He knew there was something more. His encounters with God in the tabernacle shifted his priority and focus. Let the words of Psalm 23 become a meditation for your prayer life.

Our Souls are Eternal
The origin of our souls says a lot about how our souls are meant to function. "Then the Lord God formed the man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living creature," Genesis 2:7. God's breath is the essential characteristic of the human soul. Our souls have their source in God, they depend on Him and long for Him. God's essence is in our being and He alone knows how to satisfy the soul.

Life Without Lack, Psalm 23:1
There is power in Psalm 23 that we have not yet experienced because this psalm has been more of a "nursery rhyme" familiarity which has caused us to lose sight of its profound nature. Psalm 23 is David's confession of his surrender to the Lord's leadership over his life. David is portraying a life we were meant to enjoy~ a life in which we lack nothing. This is available to you and me. The secret to this life without lack is faith in God and in God's full capacity and willingness to meet your needs.

Then another voice entered the garden scene vying for their worship and authority, to be the voice that defined who they were. On this episode, Kristen poses the question, Whose voice defines you?
