William Bonin, known as the Freeway Killer or Freeway Strangler, terrorized the streets of Los Angeles and Orange Counties in a murderous rampage from 1979 to 1980, murdering at least 21 young men and boys. Before that, he had a long history of child molestation and was let out on parole twice. He was the first death row inmate to be executed by lethal injection in California.
