I felt so seen and heard on this episode of Ladies of the Lab. Kristen Janson, Associate Director of Freshman Recruitment at MTSU, agreed to have a FUN and lighthearted conversation with me regarding our list of do's for males in the workplace. We also chimed in with a list of don'ts. Working alongside males can be tough but it can also be fun if we communicate, if we have each other's backs, ANDDDDDD if they don't assume we are going to clean the bathroom.
Other topics we hop into, without hesitation mind you: getting out of public engagements using our children as an excuse (don't act like you haven't done it!), fall vibes on campus, and fears of heights. We honestly approach the ups and downs of diagnosis and mental health in the tree of trust. Truly, I felt so connected to another human on the topics of struggle, grief, and being where you are for the waves of life. Kristen is a bright light and is a brave example of stepping into the light and becoming an advocate.
This episode is a lot...but it's not too much :). Dive in with us, it's so much FUN!
If you are a basic fall girly, you don't want to miss the season 7 opener. Meghan, Faith, Tina, Caitlin, and Liz all talk about their freaking fall favorites. We get out the gate with lots of laughter and the rest of the episode stays on track. We recap the summer from kids and schedules, to pool time and camps, and different travel things. We share all about our current faves: the best jeans, being seen and heard, and the magic coffee pot. Tree of trust is tender but all in all we decided that being an adult is hard. You won't feel alone after this one! The guts of the episode touches on all our fall favorites from food to scenery to festivities and talking about it has us all ready for the cool weather to stick around. Don't miss the details toward the end of the episode about our next Ladies of the Lab networking event. If you want to network in a way that doesn't suck, reach out to me at meghan@borobusinesslab.com and RSVP-Event Date: September 24th!
This week's episode of Ladies of the Lab is all about SUMMER. So many faces from the Boro Business Lab team joined the conversation (Faith, Caitlin, Madison, Dean and Josh) and the whole vibe was like a tree house (of trust) where we gather and bring with us all the FUN! On the season finale of season 6, we wanted to share about what we've been up to and obviously it's SUMMER so we wanted to share our plans and the necessities of the season. We talk about everything from water tumbler trends to the right spatula to use in a wok. We are all on the same page with regard to freak cleaning and parenting and we fully digress when we talk about K-Mart's genius marketing campaign. Caitlin (Meghan's sister) shares one of the most controversial Tree of Trust moments and it is truly a house divided on the issue. We laugh a LOT and talk about energy drinks, non negotiable beach treats, and what it's like to spend the 4th of July in Middle TN vs. California. This episode is guaranteed to warm your heart like the movie the Sandlot and it was the most wonderful way to end Season 6. Tune in to hear all the tea on who likes Buc ee's and who doesn't, who just loves yard work, who hates the beach, and what Cody (Josh's alter ego) is like. Happy Listening! We are wishing you the most lovely summer up in here!
Everybody will be so excited to finally meet our intern, Madison-a senior at MTSU. This episode was super chill and light-hearted. Find out what my (Meghan) current favorite is: I know you've seen this trend on Tik Tok and it will be stuck in your head for the rest of the day guaranteed. We also talk about Madison dodging sharks at the beach and the best product to give you the best summer glow. In this episode, we unpack the Ladies of the Lab networking event that Dot and Lucy's and DWK Event Collective hosted for us-it was such a great event and we had too much fun! The tree of trust has us shouting "Worry bout yo self!" and letting go of all our control issues. Madison shares about her experience as an intern with Boro Business Lab-what has surprised her most and what she has most enjoyed. We reflect on what a fun summer it has been so far learning and getting stuff DONE!
